I need to check with Mrscove to see if we have an AGL account somewhere in Australia.
I have seen their name somewhere and 5% tax free is nice.

Fortunately (or unfortunately?) i'm an AGL customer. Most notably they sell coles cards. They charge for postage however :(
That said, i've got enough CG&M GC's courtesy of amex to last me awhile.

I am an AGL customer. Quite happy with Wish cards from Entertainment book.

One thing worries me though.

"If lost in transit, Gift Cards cannot be replaced or cancelled."

Last time I got giftcards (not the egift card) am pretty sure it was registered mail, chance of loss is low.

And I'm happy with the 7.5% discount that Entertainment Book recently offered on some of these cards.

Not at all. Email account that they are sent to could be hacked or you could loose the printed version of the e-gift card and someone could just use it.

I always convert my e-gift card to the plastic versions as soon as possible.

Payment by Credit Card will incur a 1% surcharge. EFT payments will not incur a surcharge.

Can't have everything :)

Re: 5% off Giftcards (WISH, Coles, JB Hi-Fi, etc) for AGL Customers (New Rewards Prog

The Coles gift cards are now available from AGL Rewards as eGift cards - instant delivery.
1% credit card surcharge still applies (based on card face value), so a $1000 order is discounted to $950, and then a $10 surcharge is applied bringing the total to $960.

If you're like me and don't have an AGL account, you can also purchase Wish eGift cards via the below website to get 5% off (you don't need to pay any fee to sign up):

cashrewards.com.au

This website works a bit like the Virgin Velocity Frequent Flyer estore for some of the offers, you log in and then it takes you to another page and traces your purchase using cookies (instead of points you get cash back).

The advantage of the Woolworths eGift cards are that you can buy them in advance and keep some in the car for when you fill up at the service station, you can also combine with your Everyday Rewards to get Qantas Points (or 4 cents off) PLUS MyerOne points depending on the location. You get this in addition to the 5% saving you made when buying the voucher online.

Also if you use the Woolworths Online website to buy groceries or alcohol, you can sometimes get extra discounts if using a coupon code. Of course when you type in your Everyday Rewards number you will also collect the relevant QFF points if you have this linked to your account.

Thanks for info in this thread. Using it to work out the best way to maximise my switch from WW to Coles. Shame AGL rewards don't take Amex (but I suppose could end up being classed as a utility anyway) or PayPal

Re: 5% off Giftcards (WISH, Coles, JB Hi-Fi, etc) for AGL Customers (New Rewards Prog

Unfortunately it's still the truth that Coles giftcards not quite the deal that Wish cards are.

Re: 5% off Giftcards (WISH, Coles, JB Hi-Fi, etc) for AGL Customers (New Rewards Prog

I was trying to do the calculation. For me with a Diners and Edge
WW with giftcard 5% off + 2.85 Amex MR +random discount
Coles with Amex No discount + 3 Amex MR (or 1.5 SPG) + FBs
Coles with AGL GC: 4% off + 0.6 SPG + FBs

Seeing people happily convert MR to SPG and I don't think an SPG point is worth over 4c, the discount seems to work for shopping at Coles.

Whether you are better off at Coles or WW depends on comparable cost between supermarkets and how much you can play the FB system

Dr Ralph,
Have you had success converting Coles e-Gift Cards to Coles & Myer Group (Plastic) gift cards so you can spend them around the group stores? The e-gift cards say "Gift cards cannot be used to purchase gift cards. " on them.

I've managed to do this with Wish egiftcards but I've never tried with a Coles egiftcard.
