I have been able to keep my Velocity Gold status for several years, Except the past 12months I was rather sick so 3 USA trips where cancelled, I just found out I have 3 months to get 250 Status Credits.
I have other trips booked just after I am due to drop down to Silver, but have a few RDO's that I can take.

Anyone have any options on a status run? (best I have found so far is Mel-OOL around $8 per status credit)

Thanks in advance.

As above, have a look at some of the other threads and it’s definitely important to know where you are travelling from and other pertinent information such as how many flights you are willing to take and dates etc

Sorry I forgot to write i am based in Melbourne.
Not majorly restricted by dates.
4th of April I drop down to silver

I’ll also have a read through the posts

Thanks again

A flexi (Freedom) return to OOL via SYD/CBR each way for about $550 will net you 100 SC for the four segments.

Plus it's only 4900 velocity to upgrade each Flexi segment.

Some good prices to NAN currently.
J saver fares are actually on par or cheaper than Flexi fares.
MEL-BNE-NAN in J saver for $1077 one way and nets 140SC’s

Are Virgin still running A330s to Nadi on the weekend? If so, that seems like a pretty good option!

Even at $4/SC, you would be looking at over a grand once you factor in the associated costs like getting to the airport. Personally I'd be asking if the benefits are worth it.

But I concur with @serfty, OOL via SYD or CBR is usually decent

Oh and welcome aboard @James White

Another realistic option is Y to the USA then a Comfort+ run on Delta. Looking at a minimum 3 consecutive days and ~$2k all up.

Only certain months I believe.
I found plenty of dates in September that has J saver cheaper than Flexi Y all on direct A330 flights, MEL-NAN for $800 and SYD-NAN for $712 one way for a earn of 100 SC’s

Slightly different lens, if your status may fall due to ill health, are you on the mend and can you fly in the future. If yes may do a run, thats a personal choice (I have never seen the need), if not save the cash cancel your forward bookings and travel when you recover.

I was going to let it lapse as I have a trip booked in April, but I really want to use some of my 1,000,000 velocity points on a Nice upgrade or few.

Thankfully my health is on the mend so flying is an option again.

Seems a tumor near the ear isn’t great when flying, but lucky radiation therapy seems to have done a decent job.

Love some of the options. When I’m up tomorrow I’ve got some more looking to do.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I love flying and aviation.

Is it possible to tack on a leg to/from Perth to one of these? I've found NZ to eat coast to Perth to be pretty cheap on both Qantas and Virgin. If you can get the A330 even better.
