Hi there

Air Asia are having a 3,000,000 seat sale starting tonight (sunday) at midnight. (KUL time i assume  )

The website also says this : "To ensure you enjoy a pleasant online experience, our financial partners are busy maintaining the system from 12.00 midnight (GMT +8) for approximately an hour.
Should you encounter setbacks while transacting, we humbly request for your patience; your needs will be met as usual shortly"

Could be an almighty stuffup. :D

Cheers

The 3 million seat sale starts Midnight AEST ;) But for those who are itching to book some cheapie flights, how about MEL to KUL or vv from $99AUD all inclusive each way?

That's a neat $198 return :) Buts its only booking for tonight and for advance travel periods 1/12/09 to 30/04/10

Actually, just found the sale you are referring to Alanslegal. The booking period 6-9 August. This is not part of the 3,000,000 seat sale :( Unfortunately there are no Australian ports as part of the 3,000,000 seat sale. Not worth staying up for! :(

Yep, I stayed up late wondering what could be "even better than free seats!"? (as the ad promised)

Hmm - free seats and a nasi goreng?

A bit disappointed to see it was an asian domestic sale for next year, but thought I'd plot in some dates from OOL>KUL for October 09.

Just so happens that on 2 dates for the month... dep Oct 21st, return Oct 27th... I found some lower than usual fares that totalled $266 return, including all taxes.

Nice.. but i already have a ticket booked for KL.. so i woke my ma (being after midnight and all) & asked if she wanted to spend a week in KL:p

Ended up costing $300 in total for her return airfare, 15kg luggage, meals both ways, plus the skybus (airport to city) both ways.

Australia has now been added to their promo.

Gold Coast (Brisbane) RM 149 / AUD 99.00

Melbourne RM 149 / AUD 99.00

Perth RM 149 / AUD 99.00

Hi there

$99 MEL-KUL
$172 KUL-STN
$320 STN-KUL (Bloody Gordon Brown depature tax )
$99 KUL-MEL
Plus seats for 4 sectors @$10 = $40
and bag x 4 sectors @$10= $40

Total MEL-STN R/T $770 all in, to good to resist.

Drops me 3 mins drive from my cousins place, rather than some far flung airfield in West London.

Booked for Feb 2010.

Cheers

Yeah, right! Stansted's not far flung is it? (only an AUD 30 train ride away!).

However, I couldn't resist the AUD 99 fare MEL-KUL in March. Once I get to KUL, I'll be flying a full-service airline, such as EK (recently purchased KUL-LHR round-trip on EK for AUD 750 all in, including Mr brown's folly).

Just got the following:

MEL-KUL
KUL-HKT
HKT-KUL
KUL-PEN
PEN-HKG
HKG-PEN
PEN-KUL
KUL-MEL

With baggage and meals on all flights.

Total Cost: $378.22:D:D

Now this is on air asia, but for that price, who cares?

Out of interest, what are the connections like in KUL (ie how long / overnight etc)?

Hi there

MEL 0125-KUL 0635
KUL 1500-STN 2150

STN 2320-KUL 2020+1
KUL 0120-MEL 1210

So connection is 8:25 going and 5:00 coming back, not great but better than before they increased the MEL flights 11x weekly.

There is lounge access available at KUL LCCT for about AUD 45, so i'll stock up on booze and food there, sleep on the plane and arrive in the UK sober. ( a first for me  )

Hi there

It costs me about AUD 34 from Heathrow to Elsenham (down the road from Stansted)

(UKL4 tube to Liverpool St & UKL 13.50 to get to Elsenham)

I suppose it all depends on where you want to go when arriving in the London area.

Stansted works for me. :)

Cheers

Thanks DJ737,not as bad as i thought it might be. But not quite enough to have a full day in KL either.
