280 OW points run before end of Feb

Howdy

I'm 280 points away from reaching Platinum. My recycle date is the 29th Feb.

I need to do a points run. Suggestions please on best points per dollar. Destination is irrelevant as I'll just land and catch the next flight back.

There was some cheap J to NZ last week, not sure if it’s still available. SYD-MEL-AKL return will get you 240 at a good $/SC at that price. Then make it up with a quick domestic run. CHC has been cheaper than AKL for a while now so maybe look at that?

SYD-MEL-DPS return J will get you 320 but the earn rate per $ may not be as good.

Easiest would be OOL-AKL return via MEL in QF J, gives you 280 SC for roughly A$1300

If you've got points you could do MEL-OOL-MEL in JQ classic reward.

EDIT : Just checked fares on QF - the minimum that I could find was in the range of A$2K, if you are happy to spend that amount.

Can get Syd to AKL in J for $1188, but its only going to net me 160 points return. How do I get Syd-Mel-AKL on the qantas site in J. It just throws up an error if I enter it into the multi city search.

For example:
Syd-Mel 26/2
Mel-AKL-26/2
AKL-Mel- 27/2
Mel-Syd- 27/2

Displays the error "we're having trouble finding flight options that match your search. (#7190) "

I'm able to get MEL-SYD-WLG-SYD-MEL for A$ 1995 on Matrix



EDIT : I get the same 7190 error for a Multi City booking - MEL-SYD-AKL return
