Kpc we are watching how this plays out. Try to remain patient and courteous even when events are moving at what seems like a snails pace.
It is surprising that this could happen seeing every account should run off a PIN and then your NAME.
I do hope you get a satisfactory result shortly.

At least there's a good buffer to when the flights have been booked for, so plenty of time to sort things out.

After getting no response to my phone call and email, I rang the Dividend Miles Service Centre this am, and spent over 45 mins on the phone (Thank God for Skype!) to find out no one had even looked at my account as yet:evil::evil::evil:. Got hold of a lovely customer service agent who apologised profusely "for the inconvenience", who then spoke to her supervisor and has reraised the issue with "US Airways Corporate Security Department", and sent me an email with a reference number....:shock:at the end of the day, I still am waiting to get my points back!!!

***UPDATE UPDATE***

I'm ecstatic! After a month of NO action, I received an email from the Fraud Department at US Airways this cold wet Sydney morning asking me to verify a few personal details. I was then asked to open a new US Airways account, the miles balance in my old account was transferred across, and 5 minutes later, my missing 240000 US Airway miles were redeposited into my new account. WOOHOO:):D

I know you're happy :) but there was never really any doubt you'd get the miles back... the length of time was the only factor :)

really should have been a few more deposited-a month when your account was frozen and couldn't be used.

I'm not a patient person:oops:

I'm just happy to get the 240K back....

PS. I note they cancelled my namesake's flights when they returned the 240K miles....

Must be a big relief. But agree some bonus points as a gesture would of been nice.

Interesting solution to issue a new account. That would save hassles of reissuing the tickets for the family I guess.

Would save the hassle but does raise the question as to whether this other family have ended up with a free ticket!
