Day 16, flight 16.

A tram and train ride to AMS. Quickly though check-in, and then slowly through security. QR use Lounge 41 instead of lounge 40. As the name would suggest they are next to each other, and very similar.

I headed to my flight and had to stop and look at the clock in the concourse:

It is a screen showing a man continually cleaning the hands off the face and repainting them every minute. It was fascinating to watch.

I then found this chap having a snooze near the gate.

There were no 'keep off' signs here. You are welcome to have a clamber over, or just a cuddle.

My flight with QR was on another B777-200 with the herringbone seat arrangement. I finished watching the movie Long Shot that I had started on the way up to AMS. The first 3/4 was good, but the ending was a bit silly.

Now during the flight I asked for a glass of Coke. I ended up with a glass of Pepsi (blech). No more Coke products on QR flights! This is an outrage, and I suggest a royal commission is in order.

In DOH I headed to the lounge to find the same crime had bee committed there. Coke gone, Pepsi in. Obviously a change that has occurred in the last week. Ridiculous. I was forced to drink champagne.

Edit: spelling

Day 17 flight 17

I sucked up my disappointment and headed to the gate for my flight to CGK. This was my third type with QR - 787-800, and with the new QSuite.

In CGK I stayed at the HH again. I caught a taxi there and had a bit of a chill. I headed up to the exec lounge at 5.30 to find there was no hot food that I could eat. The lounge angel called down and the kitchen prepared a bite for me to eat. I was on the floor below the exec level, so I am not not sure if it was an upgrade or not. But I did have more ice-cream and waffles for breakfast!

Day 18, flights 18 and 19

Back to UL with flights from CGK-CMB-AUH. Much the same as the previous A321 neos. We had a fairly tight connection in CMB, so it was straight to the remote stand for the flight to AUH.

I stayed at the AUH HH, and have left a review here: How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

That was to be last 'real' bed before getting home.
