How did you go?
I heard getting grandstand tickets was a s—tshow.
I got hospitalityx2 (what I wanted) which was only available for three days
-no singles/Sat-Sun tickets
Have to go with the public sale next week.
Daughter was no 1 in Q and got Piastri tickets for two. Heard most sold out in 30 mins. Not sure there were many presale tix available.
Park pass means you can go anywhere but its bedlam Sat/Sun . Thursday and Friday (on sale next week) means you see practice runs and atmosphere still good.
I got in at 12:03 and no Oscar, Fiango etc stand seats left. Then had to get into a different queue to try the other stands. Which of course were sold out once I got in.

I want hospitality but the prices are absurd compared to last time.

Useless. I was in waiting room early and ended up around 500 in queue for Vettel/Waite stands. Nothing for 2 tickets. Wife’s account had nothing for more expensive stands either. Couldn’t even get 2 park passes for 2-days.

I’m assuming this is just a smart marketing ploy by AMEX and few tickets actually released for sale.

Agreed
I think many diehard fans applied for Amex cards thinking it would guarantee seats. I plan to dip in the next few days to see if they drop more. If not, really a cynical ploy unlikely to endear the Amex brand.

Cadillac have announced that Colton Herta, the American Indy car driver, will be a test driver for the new team next season. So now at least they can name an American driver in the team.
The article suggests he’ll leave Indy car next year to drive in F2, presumably to qualify him for the necessary Super License and a 2027 F1 entry. Any suggestions as to who’ll be their 2026 reserve driver ?

maybe they'll pick up one of the rookies on the sideline or top F2 drivers?

I'd put my money on Jak Crawford - a 'local' lad with a couple of good F2 seasons under his belt

ATM I don’t think he has a super license, so would not be able to race even if he was called to do so, though he may have qualified for one by the end of the year, depending on his performances this year in F2

RIC has made it official.
Guess we all figured he'd retired, but glad to see he's taking on something that can keep him connected to motorsport and entertained. Ford can do far worse that Danny Ric as a global ambassador, and it's not lost on me that this keeps RIC (loosely) connected to the Red Bull family given their extensive tie-up with Ford these days.

Well after a flurry of activity at the start we got another procession.

And PIA comes off second best when it comes to McLaren's so called 'Papaya Rules'.

Certainly not the most exciting race, but in saying that, it's not too often you can say that you've witnessed the fastest race in F1 history.

Yeah, that was.... well.... simply awkward. I suspect - as we heard from Tom Stallard's radio message to PIA - that McLaren saw this as the opportunity to even out Hungary 2024. And in the scheme of things, PIA will likely have recognised that it's "only" a 3 point swing to NOR and that by agreeing to switch, he's yet again given the team every reason to back him in when he really needs it.

Can someone remind me.... where did STR come again?

I was starting to fall asleep until the McLaren boys pitted.
i guess it was kind of Hungary again but the team messed up. NOR did also offer the pit on the assumption he won't be undercut with the gap.

Will be interesting to see if 3 points matters at the end of the season.

Some interesting things midfield from time to time. Did anyone catch what the penalty for ANT was for?

STR ended 18th (last effectively). Not sure what happened there besides maybe he just didn't care at the end.

Agreed! Hopefully a moot point.

Five-second penalty for Antonelli was for “driving erratically”. Didn’t see a replay to know precisely what he did 🤷‍♂️

Edit: Sounds like he made contact with ALB.
