2025 F1 Thread

Watched sprint live. Full chaos mode from FIA changing a bunch of things to the 3 formation laps (2 in the first attempt where Charles aquaplaned before red flagging it). Commentators had no clue what FIA was going to do because the fuels already in the car but they drove and 2 extra lap. Then all the drama after the inters came off.

Main race:
16:00 local start time.
Google says very high chance of rain by 17:00. Lower odds before then. I guess its going to be drama again.

Will it be 3 safety car Norris wins? We'll find out soon.

Entertaining first 20odd laps then the orange rocketships went nyoom out front.

Ferrari giving us the drama a little further back.

Still blows my mind that it was 33s from NOR to RUS (37s from PIA). I knew the Papayas were quick but not this quick.

Seems the drums are beating more loudly for Jack, unfortunately.
Never seemed to have a chance once Colapinto was signed, and couldn't catch a break this season....

The turmoil at Alpine continues after team principal Oliver Oakes resigned after just 10 months in the role.
No reason has been given by the team for his sudden departure, but it has he been suggested that he felt his authority was being undermined by team executive Flavio Briatore.

Who would have thought that Flavio would have undermined someone! ;)

To top it off would be to have the cheque from Colapinto's backers bounce, leaving egg on Flavio's face.

But think unfortunately Doohan is gone. Maybe a chance at Cadillac.

Would be surprised if Cadillac don't opt for an American as their "junior" driver

Herta is still a little short on super license points.
Needs a 4th or maybe a 5th with FP1 session to qualify. And currently 8th early in the season.

FIA doesn't give great points to Indycar as they don't own the series and competitive with a lot of older experienced drivers.

Unfortunately imo they’ll pick an apple pie US driver (Colton Herta has been suggested) teamed with an experienced F1 driver. Perez or Bottas ?
Daniels names been thrown out too as a unlikely maybe.
