So, my lost Montblanc Pen claim has been rejected as well. ACE insurance will do anything and frame you to answer in such a way so that don't to have to pay the claim. So, if you have something to claim, please ensure you read the T&C before you submit your paper work.

A police report must be obtained from the local police within 48 hrs... mmmmm... I am travelling.... and flew MUC-LHR-JFK-ORD-PHX-SAN, had a commitment in SAN and went LAX-HKG-NRT... seriously??? Oh, I could have claim it under travel - but same thing except - I need to have to receive the report within 48hrs too... I think finding where I need to ring whilst I was between planes is not a priority for me, plus roaming charges, plus the thanks giving weekend???!!! BTW, Amex also arranged the ITR - I just want to get from Munich to San Diego... I was told by my friend after that massive trip in San Diego BA does a direct from LHR to SAN.
 
I dropped my phone in the toilet at work last month and thought it would be cover by Purchase Protection Cover. However, it was denied by ACE insurance because there is an exclusion on damages to electronic equipment that happened at a work place. That's after spending ages to complete the claim form and looks like they are out there to deny as many claims as possible.

In Germany Amex don't cover electronic equipment at all.!!
 
I might get my business insurance to lower their excess on electronic equipment next year. I have made threats to pull my business out of Amex - not Cent yet as I still have six months left of membership, but my business account which worth a lot more to them. However, no phone call since last week from my rep - after he has apparently already escalate to head of Cent, as well as the head of his department which I understand they were going to have a meeting last Tuesday.
 
European German Centurion. I have pulled out from this underachieving card yesterday. Though much cheaper than oz it still does not stack up in its quality offerings.

Seems the current trend is Centurion isn't worth:
1. Qualifying for or keeping
2. The $5000 fee +/- joining fee given the benefits

Do AMEX monitor these forums and adjust the value accordingly?

You can tolerate a break even value proposition sometimes if you get exceptional service. For example, my whole recent round the world trip has all been upgraded to Suites. I do question if that is from my Hotel Chain Loyalty or if it's from Centurion though. With the amount of travel I did last year; the value would be over $5k. We were going to the Space night which would have been 20% off --> that was going to be $5k back there, before my wife thought buying a $20k piece is not a good idea with young children (thank god!). However, that's only so much you can tolerate about poor customer service. Well, your feedback falls on deaf ears. Their typical response was to pass the message to the customer service team.

I have threaten my business account manager that I will pull out my business cards if I don't get a response from someone from Centurion or Amex with regards to their mediocre customer service. My account manager brought my concerns to the attention to head of Centurion and head of Small Business Services. He doesn't want to lose my business, but looks like he went no where - it looks like it is a cultural problem with Amex.

So instead of cancelling my Cent which is due to be renewed in August this year --> I stopped my business billing which will hurt a lot more. There is no phone call yet; but the billing has just been stopped at the end of February, just to show that the threat was real. I don't know if they are going to do anything, as I know compare to some people we only spent a small amount for a business account. However, stopping a billing which is a few million dollars a year rather than a few hundred thousand in Cent may hopefully catch some attention.

I have been giving them free promotion for the last ten years as a raving fan, but unfortunately I think they have lost my business. At least I will give them sometime to respond to the already executed threat.
 
Just a tip might want to email Berkshire Hathaway your concerns and info about centurion customer service..... Warren or the management team might get some results when millions are mentioned.... He has a vested interest in Amex ;)

Yes, I was going to do that, but couldn't find a contact easily, so I got to the Asia Pacific Business Development Manager. He replied me on Boxing Day, but have not followed up since then. Honestly, may be Warren is going to do something, but may be he is too busy.

I think it is definitely new. I look at the benefit directory every now and then and it wasn't there before.

It's a very nice new benefit, but one condition in the T&C is a bit silly: "Bookings made by FINE HOTELS & RESORTS rates can only enjoy the bonus Golden Circle Award Points under Golden Circle Programme Diamond membership benefits but may not be combined with all the other Golden Circle Programme benefits."


 
I received a Shangri-La Golden Circle card from Centurion a couple of years ago. It has since dropped off the list of benefits but this appears to be, at best, a reboot of a previous benefit. Or am I missing something in the detail of this?

I definitely don't recall this as a benefit. Unless it was offered to selected members, or it was a benefit that you are required to requalify which I have no interest in. Losing CX is a big big loss for me.
