2010 A380 deliveries reach 10 as Singapore, Lufthansa take latest

Airbus said it is “well on track to meet its full year’s target” of delivering at least 20 A380s in 2010 following the handover of two of the aircraft Friday to Singapore Airlines and Lufthansa respectively.

That makes, from the article, 31 A380s in service thus far. They are certainly getting out there and getting an impressive name for themselves.

It might be impressive but they are yet to hit break even on the design (orders are very slow to come in for the last 12 months for all suppliers), there is only 16 airlines that have ordered the A380 and Airbus really needs a lot more to come off the fence, history is littered with great aircraft that were commercial failures for their makers.

Personally I don't care selfish perhaps but both A380's I have flown have been simply outstanding - QF and SQ. Happily pay a premium to fly over other long range alternatives.
