Hi
i have a question for the experts.
I had a holiday booked to USA coming up in May but I have been offered a new
job so u won't be able to go. however ms. henleybeach is still going . I had booked a flight with delta airlines for the 2 of us one-way from LAX to MCO, six months ago for $140 each. I can cancel for free because they have done a scheduled change by a 70 min. However if I do and then re book ms. Henleybeach the fare is $350 for one . So can I just leave it and when she checks in can she just say I'm not traveling now or is that gonna be a problem , I don't want ms. Henleybeach to be over there and they cancel her ticket and make her buy another because I'm not traveling .

Try calling Delta and ask if they can split the booking. Then you could cancel your ticket (and maybe get a refund for it) and leave your partner's flight unaffected.
