It's actually slightly more difficult to predict than you'd think, let me explain...
While this may be AFF's 21st year, it is not the first version of forum software that was used to display our posts. As a result, while some posts may have been lost over the years, the post count has remained sequential according to the database.
For example, say I make this post and it is recorded as the two millionth post, if I then deleted it, and someone else were to post after me, they would not have the two millionth post instead, at least not according to the software that we run on. Every post has a number so you can find it, it's a permanent link.
As such, through the various forum softwares over the years, this post is actually number
2,020,591. That is a software calculation though, as oppose to the number of publicly viewable posts which is actually shy of two million. Because of this discrepancy, pinpointing the two millionth public post may be slightly difficult, but the post with the nice round 2,000,000 number was actually
posted in September by
@JohnM.
To find other 'milestone posts' you just need to use the following URL: https://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/posts/2000000 and change the final number. You can also hover your mouse over the top left "time stamp" on a post to see the final digits at the end of the post to identify its number.
I haven't spent a lot of time on this, but the lowest publicly searchable post number I believe is 57,134. As the thread that post is connected to actually begun the day before our esteemed moderator
@QF WP registered, it suggests that the posts in the forum software used before that point were not able to be imported, to the tune of approximately 57,000 posts.
Of course, other events that can cause the database number to differ from the public number are deletions of posts by known spammers.
