Have noticed that these companies will ask when making a claim if you have used a qualifying credit card for your pre-departure costs (airfares, accom etc) even though you have paid for a standalone policy.
This is new to me, as they didn't do this a few years ago.
Seems a bit cheeky to defer the costs to a complimentary policy that may have a higher excess for example.
Thoughts?
