Back in 2008 I posted this thread 16 sector DONE4 ex JNB for a similar topic as this one, but with a few diferences.
Back then I didn't do it as a JQ *C 2for1 deal came up to HNL and other things just seemed like a better option.
So I have never done an ex JNB before, so looking to more upto date information. I have normally nested a few point-to-point J tickets ex TPE for my travels and they have served me well. How ever a NET of $6,381 for a DONE4 ex JNB seems like something I can't pass up.
The route I am looking at is jnb-doh-cdg-hel-mad-dfw-anc-dfw-ord-jfk-cun-jfk-syd-per-drw-syd-jnb for 48,146 miles.
I only really need to be in ORD for a very important interview (GRB actually) the rest is just fluff. ie CDG in early AM out late PM and a train ride into the city. Overnight in HEL just for the fun of it. Rest of it is Turn around or overnight where I have no choice.
Due to ill health, I have been a little out of the game and I know changes have happened re YQ. I believe AA is is not longer the great YQ killer they once were. I am looking for tips and tricks on perhaps maximising the miles on this sucker and also sneaky ways to keep the taxes and "carrier imposed fees" to an absolute minimum.
Looking forward to your interesting replies.
