15% bonus is back (between 1/02/2018 and 14/02/2018)

Fair enough. I just transfer each time I go past the 2,000 mark in case I get caught up with stuff towards the end of the month. Achieves the same thing in terms of maximizing the number of points transferred.

That's my strategy too. Also (I find) helps to highlight what orphaned points (<2000) I have- an extra bottle of daily juice (450 bonus points) solved that yesterday! (wrong thread, but some fab offers this last fortnight!)

I maximize number transferred (as there is often min transfers amounts like 2,000)

The key point with FlyBuys is that you can only transfer a multiple of 2,000, so it's not just a minimum of 2,000.

Let's say you're going to finish the month with 3,000 points.

AMEX also has a 2,000 minimum when transferring to Velocity, but allows you to transfer any number, so you'd be better off waiting until the end of the month and sending over the 3,000. With FlyBuys it makes no difference because you'd only be able to send 2,000 over.

true, I didn't have more than 2K FlyBuys until the recent spate of bonus points (always have plenty of Amex MR points), but as I am a Virgo, order is prescribed so doing one set of transactions for multiple programs works better for my OCD ;)...

Ha, too funny!! Safety first is the order for this Virgo (I trust in my organisational skills but got almost got caught out in March trying to complete the transfer from NZ! I'd never used a geo-hider-thingy before )

Ps I reckon of those methodically chasing points the proportion of Virgos would be high!:)

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

My 100,000 welcome points from Amex to Velocity went through today, as well as about 1100 extra points from other purchases on the Amex. It doesn't look like a 15% bonus was added to either total.

Can anyone confirm the following?
With SPG having their promo for purchasing points currently. If you were to buy 30k points for ~910AUD, transfer to VFF, you get the 5000 bonus for every 20k points so it would be 35k total points across to VFF. Also with the 15% expo, would this be on the 35k points or the original 30k points?

Not that there is a huge difference but just curious.
If paying with Global wallet it seems to give the points slightly better value. Thinking about buying them with these promos on for J class redemption on Singapore Airlines so am unsure whether to do it this way or just buy and transfer straight to Krisflyer.

I jumped on this and only received the bonus on the 30k, NOT on the bonus 5k.

Shame CrownBet do not appear to be a part of it. I’ve got around 50k there ready to transfer from their continual run of promotions.

Just received an email from Crownbet that you can transfer points for a 15% bonus. Ends on 17th December. Not sure if this is targeted or not.
I personally just use my crown points to gamble, its effectively 1000 VFF points for $20.

Haven’t received an email so could be targeted I guess. Might call them to ask.

Just play all the Points Pile Up promos they run and you will rack up VFF pts at a much cheaper rate than that. Back every favourite. Min bet is $20 which has an approx $1 expected loss.

So recently I transferred 100,000 points from my AMEX Velocity Platinum card to my Velocity account, and did not receive the 15% bonus.

I contacted Velocity to enquire, and they said they will follow up with AMEX and get back to me. A few hours later I hawd a call back from Velocity, who had been in touch with AMEX. AMEX informed them that the Velocity Platinum card is a Velocity Partner card and is excluded from the bonus.

Now, when I check the "Learn More" page of the promo, under "Who are the participating partners", it states:

  • Australian American Express Card Members, including David Jones American Express Card Members enrolled in the Membership Rewards program (this offer excludes American Express New Zealand Card Members)
And then the terms and conditions also outline who the offer is available from (see below, bolded the AMEX section.

To be honest, as far as I'm concerned I'm an Australian American Express Card Member, and there is nothing in the ToC that seem to exclude the Velocity Platinum card.

Worth chasing up for 15k points, or do people think it will be a dead end?

The 15% bonus Velocity Points offer is only available for points transfers from ANZ Rewards accounts, ANZ Business Rewards accounts, Citibank Citi Rewards accounts, Diners Club Reward accounts, Bank of Queensland Q Rewards accounts (Platinum credit card holders only), Suncorp Bank Rewards accounts, Card Services Rewards Accounts, HSBC Rewards accounts (Platinum and Premier credit card holders only), NAB Rewards accounts, Australian American Express Card Members, including David Jones American Express Card Members enrolled in the Membership Rewards program (this offer excludes American Express New Zealand Card Members), flybuys, Le Club AccorHotels, Choice Privileges, Hilton Honors, IHG® Rewards Club, Shangri-La Golden Circle and Starwood Preferred Guest (Participating Partners).

The Velocity Platinum AMEX automatically sweeps points to Velocity every month right? So in the bolded part above, your account is not "enrolled in the Membership Rewards program". That's my understanding anyway, you're not collecting MR points, you're directly earning Velocity points.

I am no expert, but I think the underlined bit will be your problem as the velocity card is enrolled in the velocity rewards program, not the membership rewards program?

ETA I'm not as fast as bcworld!

Right - that makes sense. I didn't actually realise I don't earn AMEX MR points, but it directly earns Velocity points. Thanks guys!

Transferred to VFF The other day from CrownBet and received the 15% bonus. Did not receive any email so obviously this is not targeted.

Also, I note you are using your crown pts to get bonus bets. Bonus bets are only worth around 40% of face value due to the fact that you don’t get back the stake for any win, you must turn over any winnings again prior to being able to withdraw and also given the negative expectation of at least 5% on any bet you make. You will find that youre not getting $20 for those 1k VFF pts, it will be closer to $9.

IMO VFF pts are by far the best use of CrownBet pts.

I should've been more clear. By gamble I meant that I withdraw the points in exchange for table play chips. Like yourself I don't find any value in bonus bets.

Do they give you promo chips (uncashable) or regular chips that you could take straight to the cage and cash in if you wanted?

Tomorrow is the last day for transfers to VFF to earn the bonus from this promotion.

Transferred my FB balance this afternoon and the points (including bonus) were in my VFF account about 15 seconds later...
