They all look good to me. Pretty keen to see them all ... never say never!

Ive read about this guy before. I'm not sure I really agree that stepping foot into a country for an hour counts as "visiting" but anyway...been to all apart from Sierra Leone and Kiribati, and not sure I really enjoyed his list as much as he did. But I do love Uruguay, and Romania is beautiful as well, especially when you get out of Bucharest.

Is English language an issue in Romania ?

Are there countries where communicating in English has been a problem?

From memory it wasn't too bad. maybe a bit harder in the villages if you go to any. Brasov wasn't so bad though.
You should be fine in all of Europe really as they have much better secondary language programs than we do.
Of course similarity of local languages gives them a leg up I reckon as well.
I suck at languages. All I can do to keep communicating in English sometimes.

3 for me, Vietnam, nz and Norway. Very strange list though. Many of those wouldn't be on my list of places to see.

Mainly what GarrettM said. The places you will go in Romania, the people will have adequate English and many will have very good English. Romanian is an interesting language, there is a significant proportion of words from Latin, which are recognisable if you have any French or similar. I found I could understand about 1 in10 words.

We found not much English spoken in Russian tourist areas outside major hotels, but we got by just fine. One of the very worst places was Spain. In major hotels, sometimes on check out there would be no English speakers to help with queries.

Only 1 country for me and it should be fairly obvious which one.

May add another 2-3 countries but no great desire to visit the remainder.

Just back from Zagreb Croatia, fantastic city, really nice people, food and booze reasonable price, lots to see, be happy to go back again.

Our digs for 5 nights here.
