Only two for me, the obvious two Vietnam and New Zealand. Would definitely love to visit the others.

Come Jan 16 we'll be sitting on three - Vietnam, NZ and Norway in January.

What a coughpy list! And I've been to many of the countries in the list.

These 10 must or 12 "must do" type of stories are invariably media fodder.

Where's all the "why" justifications? Just because Gunnar says so??

Like all stories/lists - they make good fish and chip wrappers. It's also fun to see how little of the world most of us have seen.

Only Norway and New Zealand. Although Oslo looks awful.

Kiribati now poo free on the beaches since 2013.

Is that known through personal inspection or by reports?

Haven't been so reports. I remember a report a decade or so ago that mentioned locals routinely defalcated on the beaches.

Some Kiribati Islands now proudly report being poop free. Not just an eyesore but a threat to their water supplies.

I can't believe Australia isn't on the list but Sierra Leone is! Seriously this Gunnar person has to be a couple of stubbies short of a six pack! I would add Myannmar to the list for the stunning pagodas in Bagan.

I've only been to 3 out of 12 being NZ, Vietnam and Dominica - the latter being during a cruise onboard Celebrity Summit in 2011 when we stopped at Roseau. The locals pronounce it Domineeka and some may remember the late Christopher Skase once tried to obtain citizenship there.

The pics below are around Roseau where we did a river tubing day excursion which was a great day.

1/12 only (Uruguay) for me and even that was just a stop-over not by plane but arrived by bus from Porto Alegre (Brazil) then took another bus to the port then a ferry to Buenos Aires.

OBB, Great photos

Two for me. NZ and Romania. Completely uninterested in going to any of those other places.
I would put in a plug for Romania. Transylvania is really nice. Bran Castle is amazing. So is Peles Castle and some of the towns around that area.
Bucharest itself is interesting, with still plenty of lingering Communist architecture and Caucescu legacy.
The beers are cheap and effective and the food, especially the fresh fruit, is great.
Never thought I would go there but very glad we did.
