Don't think so, must be some other factor (or just Velocity's apparently random "give some members better rewards than others" method) - husband and I are both Gold and both received the 1000 per referral email.

got this offer with 5,000 bonus points on offer (max 50,000) ... am gold. well if for any bizarre reason somebody isn't already a member, here's the link. Still don't get how they target offers - missed out on last round of double SCs which would have been nice.

My youngest daughter has exactly zero points and status and got the 50k offer. So all you plats and golds, you apparently aren't as important to Virgin as you thought!

1,000 Bonus Points for New Velocity Members

I suspect most people and their families on this forum are Velocity Members, but if not, Velocity are currently offering a 1000 point bonus to sign up.

The conditions of the offer are pretty simple:

• Join via a referral link before 30 May 2016
• Earn a Velocity Point before 30 June 2016 (exc Family Transfers) - but shopping partners and the Velocity Mall do qualify.

Whilst this is offer is only a small signup bonus, it is certainly better than the usual no signup bonus for anyone that doesn't have a Velocity account.
