Again...I was using maximum re maximising points gained and not maximising the number of people....as per the person that I was replying to question.

But you replied to someone wanting to book for 5 people and their maximum value voucher is $2500. Maximising the points gained.

Ah sorry..I misunderstood the way it works in that you can multiply the $500 by the number of people.

It takes ages to get a handle on how the vouchers work, with all the options. I've used them extensively for the last 2 years and only now feel semi-confident.

I want to buy my parents a $100 each gift voucher each for Christmas (and reap some points for myself)
They'll probably only travel SYD>MEL>SYD which will cost more than $200 and they'll book it online by themselves.
Is it best to book them under one voucher, and how do they go about paying the remainder?
Are these vouchers entered as a UATP?

If they'll travel together you can book one $100 voucher for 2 people.

They book online using the voucher reference on the voucher. Any extra can be paid by credit card etc.

I have no idea what uatp is.

Agree.. I used two vouchers today to book two flights, was simple and straight forward. The screens and steps are slightly different than a normal web booking, but basically the same process. I found the SORT-BY at the top useful to find the exact flights I was looking for. I also noticed that the Voucher # becomes the Booking Reference # once you're complete.

If i give them a voucher each, does that mean they'll have two different PNR's? I think this is where they'd become the most confused

I agree with you....they probably will get confused if on separate pnr's. And they would have to ring up to get them linked so that they can sit together. Get them one voucher and then offer to make the booking for them when they are ready to use it. You will earn brownie points twice....

Going to buy 2 x 500 vouchers from my Qantas cash card, use is for Mrs Lime and self 2 separate trips worth more than $500 each, get 5,500 points each trip, guess that's correct.
