I’ve transited through Dubai a number of times and never left the airport. I’m thinking of booking flights from LHR that would get me into DXB about 6 am and leave for SYD about 9pm giving me about 10 hours to explore the city.
Any suggestions what to do or see would be welcome, indeed even if it’s a good idea. It would be in February/March flying J and baggage checked through.
Any input welcome

That's the sort of thing I've done each time I've left the airport. (I've done LHR-DXB-LHR each time I've been to Dubai. With either a 2-3 hour turnaround or spending the day there).

I've normally just gone to the malls (Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates) and looked around. The Dubai Aquarium and Burj Khalifa are at the Dubai Mall (though price raises and exchange rate changes over the last 4 years have changed the Burj Khalifa observation deck from around AUD25 to around AUD100)

Agree with above. Exploring the Gold and Spice souks is worthwhile

Thanks for that. I’ve noticed that the Emirates Chauffer option comes up for Dubai, even when transiting only for a few hours. Does this service stick, and if so any suggestions for a drop off/ pick up point ( a hotel?) if I want to visit the old part of the city ?
