Time to close out this trip report. We got to JNB about 2pm and there was pleasantly no queue at check-in or at security...and so, no queue jumpers. We were sent to the BA Lounge and it did the job. Only pic I got was of the shower - certainly beats the hospital-like showers at their arrivals lounge.

I'm taking as many pics like this as long as the Queen lives.

Today's chariot is VH-ZNJ, Longreach, which I've wanted to fly ever since she joined the Qantas fleet in November 2019 with that non-stop London to Sydney flight. So now, of the original 11 787s, I have only yet to fly ZNB and ZNG, along with the newer 3 ones ZNL, ZNM and ZNN.

We got to the boarding gate right on time for boarding only to be told boarding would be delayed by 45 minutes. So went walking back towards the terminal, only after 10 minutes to see 'boarding' by our flight number on the departures board. I went back, and sure enough it was boarding. We took off half an hour late but still got in on time.

Some beef/chicken dish (forgot to take a pic of the menu or just remember what the food was) - I was in Y+ having sacrificed the upgrade to try and get back into the local time zone. Oh, and to save space for my companion who was the only one who missed out on an upgrade on the way over - only got it at the gate.

Nearly home.

And made it back home. First item of business was to pick up the dogs from care, and they were happy to see me.

Well, that's it. Hope you all enjoyed reading along. Next overseas trips booked are to Southern India in July (flying QF67/68) and then the Phillippines and Hong Kong between Christmas and New Year. I hope to get back to the US at some point this year (maybe October/November) but have nothing booked yet. I will also do my inevitable 3-4 annual trips to New Zealand and might make something of that if I can go on a longer trip and visit Cape Reinga, which I have wanted to do for so long.

Cheers.
