To be honest I don't mind Josh Cahill, at least he has an opinion and his videos are always professionally shot, experience captured and calls it how it is. Airlines like Qatar (and now TK it appears) want reviews to read like paid ads - which helps no-body :(

A little off topic but was in the Melbourne lounge yesterday, and they had ham !!!! To be clear it was positioned far away from the toasted sandwich ingredients and was put on serving platters like it was the christmas turkey... Speaking of which, they served a turkey dinner on my 5.15pm...

Both the Pullman and Travel Lodge are really decent and you can either catch the train to Mascot and walk or just get a quick uber/taxi (probably better with more than one person). Both temperature controled airconditioning which for the upcoming summer months is a non-negotiatable...

Simply not true. Airlines are always market testing everything - from catering, in-flight products to lounges etc. Any blowback that takes their net promoter score down is responded to. Martini's in the QF First Lounge didn't return because customer feedback didn't matter...

I would encourage every loyal VA flyer to reply to the email and let them know how you feel. No point coughing here - register your opinion and make them reply. Also just read the Fin Story on the closure and there was this ominous quote from Dave Emerson who said the new-look airline would...

Great location and that is really the only thing it survives on - otherwise middling service and dark rooms. The hotel has had more changes of names than a drug dealer's change of phone numbers ;)

I like the way SQ do it - they don't hand them out unless requested and often will come down the isle with a selection of toothbrushes, moisturisers etc, and ask if you would like any/all of them. The only thing I have ever used is the toothbrush and maybe a pen in the old days for filling out...

I have to admint I am one of the guilty parties for brining on a small suit pack with a couple of shirts on top of a roller and a computer bag (which goes in the seat in front). It fits above all the luggage and doesn't cause any fuss....

Who ever put in fabric seats into the A220 + A321 should be fired. Today my A220 seat base and magazine rack were both deeply stained and the velcro strips coming apart. The 717 fit out was like a private jet compared to this.

Do NOT stay at the Moxy. The rooms are over-heated, they have no fridge of any kind and really poor water pressure. Stayed there once and vowed never again. I couldn't change the temperature and sweated through an entire night of sleeplessness...

Will give kudos to VA for having a nicer lounge at the Gold Coast Airport than the cupboard that is currently the Qantas Club there. But that is where any points go to Virgin, as the lounge I frequent the most - Sydney - is nothing short of a holding pen for animals.

What so all 24 Qantas Club Lounges and a further 5 Business Lounges are terrible? VA only have 7 Club lounges across their whole network. Give me QF anyday.... At least they have ham for their toasties ;)
