    How thin is thin?

Just boarded a PER-MEL flight. The flight is almost full. Had absolutely no issues with my laptop bag. I think it was the extra effort I made to dress like a pro, including my favourite bowtie. The only downside is that two pax have asked me for water and I'm going to get looks of expectation...

    How thin is thin?

I'm due to take some Virgin flights for the first time in a while. Along with my 7kg carry-on I was planning on taking a separate laptop bag. The VA website states that a "laptop computer, handbag, pocketbook or purse (of reasonable size) is permissible" on top of the 7kg bag. It then goes...

    DoubleTree Perth Northbridge

Northbridge is a vibrant location. Sure, it's a bit gritty on a Friday or Saturday night but there's good food and pubs nearby, plenty of taxis and a very short walk into the city centre. IMO a far more interesting location than the Parmelia Hilton.

Frequent Fliers Anonymous - breaking the circle.

I find the people who fly the most for government tend to be on higher salary bands and and generally don't get access to time in lieu, even for travel. It's just part and parcel of being senior enough and well paid that you put in the extra hours. Many times I've taken a junior staff member on...

They could pretty easily audit it afterwards. It's not really worth the risk.

Government. No access to SC only fares.

Frequent Fliers Anonymous - breaking the circle.

I abandoned status several years ago when my employer banned employees linking their frequent flyer accounts to their bookings. The lack of SC from frequent work trips meant that it was far more economical to take the best fare I could find for leisure trips along with using points for...

    Card Options pre MR Devaluation

I hold the same cards and plan to close them both after stocking up on Woolworths egift cards pre devaluation. I don't put enough through the cards to make it worth my while holding at the lower earn rate. I don't get much value out of the AMEX offers and value the travel credits at a far lower...

Reduced AMEX earn rates from April 2019

I plan to keep my Edge and Explorer until Devaluation Day. I'll spend up big buying WISH egift cards which will see us through until my partner has sat out his 18 month exclusion from bonus offers. Maybe they'll offer me something to stay. We cycle through four or five credit cards a year which...

    Free Mega Giveaway II

Item 106 - Camera that uses film A couple of months ago on the day I was due to fly out I asked my partner to go out and buy me a cheap camera. He came back with this. I was beyond horrified. Still not developed. If either of the s/m BA pjs are available (items 16 and 17) I'd be ecstatic...

Virgin Money Flyer 60,000/High Flyer 120,000, $129 flight voucher, annual fee $64/289

Can anyone confirm the status of payments made directly to Telstra? Are they non-government spend (as they should be). I only just scraped through with the bonus points last month.

    Showers at Sydney Airport

Oh awesome. I read on AusBT that there was no arrival access to the domestic J lounge and that it was only for WP and P1 passengers. I can always try to get in and go to the Qantas Club if I get knocked back.

    Showers at Sydney Airport

Hi All, Flying to SYD overnight from PER (arrive 0615hrs) and then transferring to CBR. Unfortunately my travel booking has been messed up and I'm booked in Y for the Cbr leg. This means I don't have lounge access in SYD I'm going to definitely need a shower before meetings in CBR! My question...
