Assuming you mean check in on 31 July and check out 2 Aug as minimum 2 night stay. 8 are but all poor value. The free night is covering the more expensive night from this but most are only $150-200 per night. Can give specifics if you’ve got something in mind.

I can see where this is coming from, that flight is operated by SunExpress, clearly the Qantas system doesn't have the IATA code for SunExpress so it's instead used the first two letters SU which happens to be the IATA code for Aeroflot.

I've had no issues over the years. Originally it was free and you could even add a free meal voucher. Always had to do it via the JQ website or chat.

The Mercure seems to be a little bit cheeky and releases limited amounts last minute (a few random dates in March) then all of Jan/Feb next year is fine.

Nothing new, obviously was the old VA lounge prior to covid. During covid when VA permanently shut the Darwin lounge it turned into an airport staff room and has remained as such ever since.
