    Once the all clear was given. John was given control and told "the airfield is yours". Did a few circuits and finished up with a low level knife edge pass over Moorabbin. I think there are some pictures of that flight in the bar at RVAC.

    Ah, nice to hear Bill. John passed a few years back and was my father. Had his first flight in a Gypsy Moth in 1945 and his last flight, aged 80, in a P51 Mustang in 2006. Over 20,000 general aviation hours in between those two flights. As an instructor and examiner I imagine he would have flown...

    I have a brother in West Africa on mission for the WFP now. Problem still very real. New infections have stabilised in some places and dropped in others which is encouraging but complacency could easily see the virus take off again. My brother is due to have one weeks R&R and finding countries...

    hi jb, I'm new here and have read a lot of this thread but not all 736 pages so forgive me if this question has already been posed? I was wondering do various qualifications for airline pilots have to be renewed and if so, how often? e.g. medical examination and instrument rating , thanks
