ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

For those who use Zip Pay to pay the ATO in $1000 increments, does your account get locked? I have recently started using it, and after several payments my account gets locked and I need to call up to get it unlocked which takes several days. I won't continue if this keeps happening. Or is it...

Changes to Westpac credit card point earn rates from 1/8/25

Thanks for the reply. Good to know to use ZipPay and not pay the council rates directly.

Changes to Westpac credit card point earn rates from 1/8/25

I am new to Westpac Altitude Qantas Black card and wanting to put through as much spend as possible before 1/8/25. Whilst I realise it mentions government spending doesn't earn points, I realise there are some other cards that say this but still give points for council rates, water bills etc...

Thanks. Yes I just cancelled mine before the annual fee is due. Now for me it's just a card to consider churning every 18? months.

NAB removing point earn on BPay

Effective 1 May 2025, the NAB Qantas Business Rewards card no longer gives points for BPAY transactions. They have new conditions effective this date, and I have also checked my statement and not received points for BPAY payments.

Credit Card Offers NAB Qantas Business Signature: 200,000 bonus Qantas Points (expires 28/2/25) - works with ATO

I just noticed that I earned no points on my last statement and have also discovered they have changed their conditions effective 1 May 2025 to no longer issue points for BPAY transactions. It was fantastic to get points for BPAY payments to the ATO without needing to pay any surcharge. How...

Changes to Westpac credit card point earn rates from 1/8/25

I was about to apply for the Westpac Black card. Whilst I realise it is likely the StGeorge card will also change soon, I am thinking that it’s better to apply for the StGeorge card instead in case there is a bigger time period before it changes. My question is: when applying for the card, I...

Credit Card Offers St.George Amplify Qantas Signature Offers & Discussion

I'm thinking to apply for this card and have two questions I hope that someone can answer: 1. There is no information about the Birthday Bonus on the St George bank website. Has this been removed? 2. Does St George allow a card migration across to the non Qantas Amplify version of this card...

Credit Card Offers ANZ Qantas Business Rewards Card: 130,000 bonus Qantas Points

Thanks for the update. It seems this card isn't as good as the NAB Business card for ongoing usage, but is worthwhile for the sign up points.

    Warning about LATAM flexible/refundable fares

I had a similar experience a bit over a year ago. Despite having a fully refundable fare and cancelling it and being told I would be getting a refund, it never came. I chased it up many times over a few months and they kept saying the refund would be made soon. I ended up having to do a...

When opening an account with Stake, you can choose to open an account with Stake AUS or Stake Wall Street (US) or both. Opening an account with both (if you intend to purchase both AUS and US stocks) is easy and it's all under your one login. At the top right of each page is a toggle to change...

    Bankwest More World Mastercard- loungekey?

I found out that points are worth $0.25 / each for cashback/giftcards which means its basically a 0.625% cashback card. (vs. the Qantas version which is 0.5 points per $ after the first $5000 spending per month)

    Bankwest More World Mastercard- loungekey?

Can someone who has this card please let me know how much a point is worth? I see that you earn 2.5 points per dollar spent and that points only seem to be able to be used for gift cards or cashback. But I can't see how much a gift card costs so can't work out the points value? Cheers

Credit Card Offers NAB Rewards Platinum with Velocity: Up to 80,000 bonus Velocity Points (expires 30/4/25)

Yes, I got this card very recently and redeemed the 120,000 NAB points for $600* Coles gift cards before they were automatically converted into 60,000 Velocity points. The terms state that you need to setup the automatic Velocity redemptions before you will get the bonus points (which you can...

Received a bill after replacement credit card sent to overseas address

This sounds like a peculiarity of the Netherlands. Bankwest likely wouldn't know about it as there would be few cards sent there. 99% of countries that Bankwest send cards to (commercial value $1-$5) would attract no custom fees. In my opinion, the smart decision would be to either pay it or...

Credit Card Offers CommBank Ultimate Awards Card: 100K award points – potentially fee free

I just received an email from CBA about it. On another topic, does anyone know if you change between CBA Awards & Qantas Awards multiple times in a year, are you charged the $30 (soon to be $60) fee every time you change to Qantas? Or if it's still in the same year will they waive the fee...

ANZ Plus $50 for Referrer and Referee after 3x Spend

This deal seems to have exploded on the ozbargain website. I am guessing people are hoping it will be like the Webull deal where people got many referrals from the ozbargain referral randomiser. I signed up this morning, and completed the steps and got $50. I purchased 3 x $1 Amazon gift cards...

    Qantas Points Club Discussion

Whilst it sounds like you have had issues, expecting a resolution within 1 day sounds unreasonable to me. A lot of companies these days take up to ~30 days to resolve an issue, so phoning every day makes you sound difficult.
