    The Stuffington Post

I wonder how many members have managed to "stuff up" bookings and transfers of points and complimentary passes. Today I was trying to do a good deed for a relative who had a domestic transfer from Qantaslink requiring a 5 hour overstay in Sydney before her next domestic flight on JQ (a sensible...

EBP increasing top up fee from 0.8% to 1.3%

The new rate seems exorbitant - especially for AFFs who are looking for cents per point value.

    Travel Insurance for Over 70's

It will be very interesting when humans travel to Mars. 1 Martian year =1.88 Earth years . Picture the scene : decrepit old geezer staggers off the Musk 1 Mars transporter, collapses in heap and gets carted off to hospital. He (she) declares "I got my insurance and I'm only 45 years old". Does...

    Travel Insurance for Over 70's

Just a thought if we can now change our sex on our birth certificates, there would be a HUGE benefit in being able to change our age on said birth certificate. Ageism is one of the worst things in our society in my opinion. My now 90 year mother is more hale and hearty than many 70 year olds...

Special promotion to join QF Club.

My membership expires JAnuary 2020 and I was able to renew for another 2 years to take it to January 2022. It looks like your anniversary date remains the same.

Special promotion to join QF Club.

My renewal offer was only up to 2 years. There was no 4 year option. The renewal fee was $666.40 for 2 years (courtesy CPA membership) so same as last 2 year renewal in Jan 2018.

Special promotion to join QF Club.

My darling 90 year mum received an offer to join. She got her fingers burnt purchasing an Ansett Golden Wing membership just before it went bust so didn't get any value out of it. These days I usually take her as my guest because my daughter is still under 18. She has just turned 17 though and I...

    2019 Federal Election Discussion

A bit off topic but while we are all busy having fun points chasing....it may not be as quite a done deal for the little Billy Can. Heard a whisper that one of his apparatchik was out canvessing signatures recently to set up a new party just to funnel preferences from it to him. Smacks of...

Plastic bag ban...... meaningful initiative or just a feel good stunt?

kyle said: ↑ I've witnessed young kids touching fresh produce with their hands after rubbing their runny noses. I think in that case, I'm definitely for having plastic packaging. So does that mean if I get my snotty employee to snot all over your fruit and vegetables and then carefully wrap it...

Plastic bag ban...... meaningful initiative or just a feel good stunt?

We've been doing the "no grey plastic bags" for quite a few years in Tasmania so it is amusing to hear the angst over the replacement bags issue. The discussion which is important is whether it is better for our environment. I have to say I am not seeing the amount of plastic bags blowing round...

Virgin Lounge to open in Hobart! [No longer "Mid 2014" - maybe never!]

Every time Virgin does a survey, I make a comment about the need for a Virgin lounge (albeit in Launceston as that suits me better). I hope you make the same comment for Hobart. Until that time, I am a rusted on Q Club member.

    Mother and child different surnames

I kept my maiden name (for cultural and professional reasons) so it is markedly different to my daughter's surname. I took her to Japan a few years ago when she was 12 and there no issues going through immigration. I had also taken her with me to New Zealand and Fiji earlier and again nil...

Plastic bag ban...... meaningful initiative or just a feel good stunt?

And we haven't got on to discussing container deposit legislation yet. It is certainly frustrating to see more and more fiddly little bits of vegetables and all sorts of items being packaged in more and more cling wrap and plastic containers. I like to buy my fruit and veg loose and not...

Flybuys subscription service trial: "Flybuys Max"

The bulk of most people's supermarket purchases is NOT "fresh produce" ie fresh meat and vegetables/fruit - Fresh meat/fruit/veg probably equates to about 10% of the shopping trolley. If they offered a blanket x10 points on all supermarket groceries then it would start to add up.

    Point Collectors Anonymous

Thanks for the great advice re churning but I have just done my credit score a disservice by applying for a dragon and supplying huge amounts of paperwork and failing at the last hurdle of an ITR less than 18 months old. They are definitely not very smart as I supplied with all the proof they...

    Point Collectors Anonymous

LOL …. LOL.... serve him right. I can imagine him seething in the back while precious daughter and I loll in the front with our coughtails. Ooooh the delicious joy of it all. Seriously though, it would be much more fun (and easier to get the points) if he would be a good chap and join the team.

    Point Collectors Anonymous

My husband doesn't understand all this points business even though I have tried to explain it. He just thinks it's all too much hard work and he would rather pay the cash up front and travel business class that way. As a result, (not having any cash) he hasn't travelled at all. My goal is to fly...

    Qantas Red Planet

It is quite interesting putting someone else's hat on and answering questions as that person. I think I have been channelling my spouse very well and he has scored some points for himself with Red Planet. When he reaches 5000 points, I will then transfer them to the person who deserves them (moi).
