Doesn't make a lot of sense, does it. From a very quick look at available seats the flight out is about half load, flight back is almost full.

In case anyone was wondering, the invites have started. Wife and I (both currently PS) are flying SYD-ADL return over the weekend (Fri am-Sun pm). She got an invite yesterday to buy passes for the ADL QP before the return flight on Sunday night. Not worth it in this case.

It does happen sometimes - my partner had her VA Gold matched back to QFF a couple of years ago as part of the deal when her employer at the time switched from VA to QF. All depends on the deal (if any) that has been concocted to make the switch I guess.

Replying to myself but it might help others - turns out there was a follow up email containing a survey that got tagged as spam (not surprisingly, it does look a little spammy).

Was curious, so signed up when the email arrived yesterday (only PS here), but no surveys for me. Over-represented demographic? Industry of "other" confused it? Who knows. :confused:

Pretty sure it's a no-go on the F-lounge for QF->AA. If ticketed through you'll pick up bags, queue for CBP (the kiosks help a bit here these days), queue for customs, and then finally drop bags and walk out of TBIT, turn right and walk to T4 and then back into the loving company of the TSA...

I just dropped to PS from SG (I was well off requal so never expected to be comp'ed), and in my pack was the single QP invite, and the opportunity to join the QP (never been a member) with the initial joining fee waived if I sign up in the next couple of months (I think it was 3 months, but...

Your words were fine I think, I just didn't use enough of my own. ;) I wasn't confused about access to QF lounges (as SG or QP), but access to EK lounges as SG - the QFF Tier page has no mention of that at the moment. There's a whole other thread about that now, though.

That point is a bit confusing right now - on the Tier Benefits page you linked to, it mentions Emirates lounge access for WP, but not SG. Over on the EK QP changes thread there's a suggestion it is just a website screw-up, but who can say these days. :confused:

Yes, after you drop off bags on the conveyor and go back through the lovely TSA meet and greet, you can wander the blank hallways and find the lift up to the QF lounge on level 5. The good thing is that it is a lot quieter at that time of day than on the return leg.

Actually, for a gluten free "pastry" they aren't all that bad. That's not saying a lot, though. For comparison, try their gluten free bread. (Hint: don't.) I'm lactose intolerant, so if I chose a special meal, I get stuck with the combo gluten/lactose free meal (not the worst thing in the world...

Not true - it is virtually empty when waiting to get back on QF107 to JFK. But yes, it is a complete zoo at night before all the westbound flights.
