I should have clarified my MEL-HND was in J For what it's worth I also jumped on and jagged the return leg in Y, feels great to have the entire journey booked through points. Like others I'd only really started hoarding points during Covid but they'd felt kinda useless til now.

Can anyone confirm it's normal for flights not to show under bookings when card has been charged? (points haven't been deducted).

Further on this - is it normal for the booking to disappear entirely during this time? I called over the phone and was able to pay for and confirm a booking that was stuck in limbo (couldn't click through payment online). My credit card has been charged for the taxes but my points have not...

I now have two bookings that got through to the payment stage then died. Both are again showing in my bookings, waiting on hold to see if I can pay for the first one and can the second, might be here all day.

Excuse my ignorance but what is the PNR/where do I find it? Briefly the booking was showing up under "my bookings" with a reference number, but disappeared after 10 mins or so with no points deducted or card charged.

Thanks for that henrus - I guess I feared that was the case. You are correct it's a 787 flight, unfortunately as we only booked 2 weeks out from the flight taking place all the seats you mention were taken (as were all the extra leg room seats which I'd have paid for). The only options left...
