CX planes and best seat options

Thanks again, that's valuable perspective. As my destination is Delhi I'm only transiting HK on the way over, but I will have approx 24 hours. With respect to the location of the airport etc, what area of HK would you recommend staying in to get out for a few hours upon arrival and perhaps the...

CX planes and best seat options

Thanks very much for reply Yohy?! Do you know if the long haul is this 33P or one of the others, I think the K or E? What's your view on Cathay, are they a good carrier? I have not flown with them for 15 years.

CX planes and best seat options

I think this is the most relevant thread for my queries... Please can any experienced CP fliers verify whether the airline is reliable and comfortable and which of the three versions of the 330-333 aircraft they use on the CNS-HKG and HKG-Delhi flights? What are the best economy seats on these...

TAM to join oneworld on 31st March 2014... what does it mean for QFF?

What booking code was the LAN flight? If it was one of the ones published as eligible via this link then you should follow up. Frequent Flyer - Earning Points - Fly - Airline Partners

TAM to join oneworld on 31st March 2014... what does it mean for QFF?

I'd prefer to book through LAN as the earn rate and privileges are published, but TAM is returning the exact same flights I want - albeit as codeshare operated by LAN - approx. $220 cheaper.

TAM to join oneworld on 31st March 2014... what does it mean for QFF?

Thanks serfty. At the moment on TAM you cannot add in a QFF number (still has star alliance grouping), I guess this will change post 31 March. I want to lock in a multicity fare now though and not wait until 31 March, but obviously the perceived risk is that I won't get points or lounge access...

TAM to join oneworld on 31st March 2014... what does it mean for QFF?

TAM join oneworld effective from first flight on 31 March 2014. If I fly with TAM as a QFF member after this date I could be eligible to earn points and status with QFF providing the standard criteria is met (booking code etc). What if the booking with TAM is made prior to 31 March though? If...

AA did not recognise Oneworld Ruby (Qantas Silver) Status at check-in

Thanks. Job logged with them, see how we go... although their desk at DFW did say it was an issue for Qantas to resolve.

AA did not recognise Oneworld Ruby (Qantas Silver) Status at check-in

OK so at this point we don't even have a response. Let alone a refund. That's why I'm here, aggrieved and posting on a frequent flyer discussion forum. Clearly stated in the OP I've said "perhaps" compensation for loss of service etc. Firstly I'd like a response from the airline(s), then a...

AA did not recognise Oneworld Ruby (Qantas Silver) Status at check-in

Yeah you're right. Being aggrieved and expecting a response from an airline/partner after it failed to recognise legitimate status and issued charges means you should stop travelling... NOT. It's reasonable to expect these airlines to honour the programs they promote and that when a mistake...

AA did not recognise Oneworld Ruby (Qantas Silver) Status at check-in

I'm pretty sure 2 complimentary checked bags IS an entitlement on AA for Oneworld Ruby. Be clear these were not additional bags, these were the first and only two. This is what I received as a OW Ruby and it is listed on the OW website...

AA did not recognise Oneworld Ruby (Qantas Silver) Status at check-in

My partner and I recently traveled on a US domestic flight on AA. We are both Silver QFF. Silver translates as Oneworld Ruby. The booking included our correct QFF numbers. The Ruby status entitled me to pre-select our seats and receive two free checked bags at 23kg each and a level of priority...

Award Flights - North America to Europe - Best Value for points?

Hi there, looking at award flight options departing North America to Europe (and return) and attempting to determine best value for points in economy, particularly in peak season. Ideally I will travel June-July. Obviously this is peak season and it's a super popular route. Although there are...

    Rental Car USA

Anybody have ideas about how to avoid/get out of one way drop fees? $300 just for a one way drop fee is proving to be a real disincentive. The added logistical challenges of having to return hire cars back to their origin simply to avoid the drop fee are coughbersome.

Access to AA lounges on YUP/KUP fares? I have no status

So in the past when I've made booking with other OW partners - like BA - the booking shows up in "my bookings" on Qantas web in QFF. My AA bookings are not. Is this normal?

Access to AA lounges on YUP/KUP fares? I have no status

I suspected these lounges might not be the best. Will be frequenting a few in the coming months so hopefully better than nothing. While we're on it, what are people's experiences with AA? I've got a few flights back n forth with them US-Caribbean and also some internal US ones booked via...

Access to AA lounges on YUP/KUP fares? I have no status

Thanks Serfty. I was double checking because the thread was a bit old. Drink chits? I assume these are vouchers and one just asks at the counter?
