The UK is generally milder in winter than most of (northern) mainland Europe. We're supposedly warmed by the gulf stream, though I don't advise you dipping your toes in at any stage. A good coat, scarve and gloves and you should be fine. As others have pointed out, it can be very warn indoors...

Apologies if this has been asked and answered before....... As a QP member, do I get priority checkin with BA? I'm flying SYD-LHR on a QF economy ticket, but on BA metal, so presumably I'd be checking in at the BA desks.

Can I ask how far in advance of your flight you were offered your upgrade? Would you have been offered this due to your status? I'm flying BA for LHR-HKG and also SYD-LHR, but the ticket is booked through Qantas. Do you think that would that rule out any such offer? Thanks.

Thanks Flashware! Yes, all our flights are booked with QF or BA. I'd considered Priorty Pass, but they don't seem to have lounges at LHR T5, Cairns or Sydney Int, all of which we are passing through. Also, without the speedy check-in we might not have much time for the lounges! Our next travel...
