    Proof.......The Yowie does exist!

In my innocence I would hope that an appeal to the "Service Director" (as the Head Steward is called these days) would produce some results, such as being moved to another seat or being taken to a seat in Business Class. Btw. at around 1990 a very overweight was refused flying from London to...

    Which PJs in the sky

Wonderful idea. In future I will be in my PJs when going to the airport. I hope that my fellow passengers in steerage will not mind.

    Qantas-Emirate partnership gives me headaches.

    1. Thanks for backing up my point of the inconvenience of the Qantas-Emirate partnership. :p 2. I did have a phone call from Qantas and while I was given no reply to my fax addressed to Mr. Joyce, I was told how much he appreciated the feedback I provided.:) 3. If people, who criticized my...

    Qantas-Emirate partnership gives me headaches.

Well, you are right, Qantas did owe me 167600 points. However I spent them now on a flight which used to be avialble to me, but did not seem possible unless I went to Dubai, which caused me some extra time in the air and waiting.

    Qantas-Emirate partnership gives me headaches.

I am sorry about my mathematics. I now have 552 points after spending 167,048. My calculator is more accurate than my brain and it tells me that I started of with 167,600.

    Qantas-Emirate partnership gives me headaches.

Could you please attempt to book SYD-BKK on QF, then BKK-LHR-BUD on BA but use your SYD departure on 10th May 2013 and see if you can use your QFF points to pay for this. Thank you.

    Qantas-Emirate partnership gives me headaches.

I believe Mr Joyce is the CEO of Qantas whose tie up is not to my advantage in spite of the public relations exercise is tring its best to ensure that the public will accept it.

    Qantas-Emirate partnership gives me headaches.

No doubt you could (as also I did many a time) do this prior to April 2013, ( also to St Petersburg via Helsinki) but it seems that all traffic is being sent through Dubai from April onwards. A number of replies suggest that I could have utilized my 180,000 or so points through British Airways...

    Qantas-Emirate partnership gives me headaches.

Sure, but I had almost 180,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer points earned over several years. Any suggestions how I can use them other than flying with Qantas?

    Qantas-Emirate partnership gives me headaches.

I assure you that it is not the ladies behind the metallic masks that keep me away from willingly visiting Arab States. Neither I nor my travel agent could book me on British Airways and use my almost 180,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer points

    Qantas-Emirate partnership gives me headaches.

I thought that Mr Joyce is the CEO of Qantas who have now become partners of the Saudi Arabian Airline known as Emirate. Mind you I doubt if anybody will answer my faxes.

    Qantas-Emirate partnership gives me headaches.

If you are old enough, would you have liked to be traveling through Germany during WWII? Neither I nor my travel agent could book through either Qantas Frequent Flyer or through British Airways using my Qantas FF points. Why don't you try?

    Qantas-Emirate partnership gives me headaches.

Why am I xenophobic? If you are old enough, would you have liked to be traveling through Germany during WWII? Neither I nor my travel agent could book through either Qantas Frequent Flyer or through British Airways using my Qantas FF points. Why don't you try?

    Qantas-Emirate partnership gives me headaches.

    1. I just want to go where I used to go almost every year and before this unfortunate Qantas-Emirate hook up. 2. Budapest is not all that obscure, for instance British Airways flies there 5 time per day with other UK/Irish planes 10 per day. It is somewhat more popular than many Asian capital...

    Qantas-Emirate partnership gives me headaches.

I might be stupid but I cannot see how the QF-EK partnership is anything other than a nuisance for me. I am awaiting a reply from Mr A Joyce in answer to me two faxes and when he will tell me the answer, (as no doubt I will hear from someone) I will pass it on to you people. I am going to...

How will I stop off in Bangkok?

On my way to Europe I used to stop off in Bangkok for a few days. With Qantas flying via Dubai in future, how will I be able to attend to my business and stop over in Bangkok? Will I need to fly Thai, in which case I will not earn QFF points or will Qantas still fly the SYD-BKK-LHR route?

    USA: Tipping and Taxes

Very wise advice. When in LA I was wheeled to the busstop by a porter, who was already being paid by the airline, I asked him to take me first somehere where I can change a $100 note for his tip. He told me that he has ample change. Indeed he had, but (surprise, surprise) nothing smaller than...

"Welcome aboard sir , your the only one travelling with us tonight"

I was never the only passenger, but in 1962 flying between Auckland and Tauronga in NZ I asked the pilot if we are going via the small village of Te Kauwhata and his answer was: "We can, if you like." Some time later the co-pilot came back to tell me that we are soon over the place and the plane...
