    Catering Not Assured

I once had CNA on an ODU (from Adelaide to Sydney I think it was), was told there would be no catering and was given airport vouchers to the tune of about $30. I was fed onboard anyway.

A sting in the tail with $49 Tiger flight (article by Fairfax Travel writer)

I think it was entertainingly written and made some valid points about LCCs.

You mean overpaid. They were actually overpaid allowances.

    That's right, you can't.

    Most Comfortable Flight Ever.

Tough to choose - it's between the QF A380 Delivery Flight last year in J, and a RAAF VIP flight up to Jakarta a few years back with John Howard. Maybe the latter by a nose.

Cheap QF SC run in Europe

BA Club Europe fares can often be found for not that much more than the price of Economy, and they earn full Business Class SCs, and are relatively much, much cheaper than QF Domestic Business Class fares.

Qantas To Spend $10million In Advertising Revamp

But as a Platinum Frequent Flyer with over ten thousand posts on this forum, I suspect you wouldn't really be the target of the campaign. :)

    PM's air rage

It's pilots and top brass only in F for staff travel isn't it?

    PM's air rage

Not the case. They don't take out the entire cabin. They just bring them on very last, put them in F with everyone else, and no one else knows they're aboard. Happens when the RAAF break down and there's no time to wait.

    PM's air rage

For interest, these guys are trained by Qantas, who also supply the catering (at least that was the case in 2005). I flew in the least posh section of the aircraft, and even there the cabin and service were of an international first class standard (minus the fully flat bed). It was amusing to...

    PM's air rage

I don't want to be defending Rudd excessively here because I don't know any more than the next guy that he should be defended, but all of the shortcomings that Laurie Oakes listed (if true) would be taken for granted on a commercial flight - and the RAAF VIP Wing is running very much a premium...

    PM's air rage

Laurie Oakes said that Rudd has been unimpressed with the RAAF VIP Wing for some time, after a series of incidents (and the feeling seems to be mutual). Flights to Asia with no meal service, 6AM flights without breakfast, constant stuff ups with orders like orange juice arriving instead of...

    Domestic flights from International terminals

Howdy. What's the best way to identify domestic flights leaving from the international terminal in Sydney? I am doing a Sydney-Melbourne trip and wouldn't mind checking out the Flounge for the first time. Thanks for your tips! WTL.

Family Of 5 Ejected Of Etihad Airway After Etihad Made An Error On The Their Seating

Re: Family Of 5 Ejected Of Etihad Airway After Etihad Made An Error On The Their Seat Calling a customer "a dog" (if true) could never be justified by the airline's perspective of the incident, whatever it is.

    Sydney Airport photo "restrictions"

Mark - you're entirely right, and as a further point of interest, there are no circumstances where a police officer can confiscate your camera equipment short of arresting you. You might choose to surrender it if arrest is on the cards (or a court might later subpoena your pictures for some...

Ryanair's bizarre slanging match with customer

There are many scenarios where buying the advertised Ryanair low fare, and to make it to the airport the regulation two hours before, can only be achieved by taxi.
