Velocity Chief Nick Rohrlach departs in management shakeup

Why not just fix their changes, that will be way more effective in retaining status pax.

Velocity Chief Nick Rohrlach departs in management shakeup

I really don't get this latest promo, it feels like a haphazardly adhoc promo which makes little sense - obviously some desperation there.

Velocity Chief Nick Rohrlach departs in management shakeup

100%, they fly to to a few leisure destinations effectively competing with Jetstar, and they totally fail to serve the business market, which flies to China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, USA and of course Europe (could argue this is covered by Qatar, but not booked through VA with 30% random markup)...

Complex Itinerary - Transit at Shanghai and Separate bookings

I have two somewhat separate questions, but both for the same trip with QR. 1. I am beginning the journey in Tokyo, and repositioning to Shanghai (PVG) on an unrelated airline (maybe Spring airlines), and then my onwards flight is on Qatar. What I'm wondering is, is it possible to do an airside...

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

Can't wait to see those prices.

Velocity Chief Nick Rohrlach departs in management shakeup

2 of them are for the beyond lounge (including supervisor), 1 chef for the VA lounge (normal one), probably just the previous one resigned or something, I doubt this will lead to much of anything. The sad thing is, the food is so poor even in the qantas business lounge, it would be just such an...

Business / First Class Dine on Demand Discussion

Eventually qsuite 2 will be on most routes (all new 777X and a351s being delivered now), I'm hoping they will retrofit all the existing A351s, given product uniformity has always been their weak point, hopefully they see that as a common sense decision and not wait for the mid-life refresh...

    Virgin Australia flights to Doha

Stupidest cough ever, they can carry Australians to Europe and other parts of the world obviously... Australian government insistent on doubling down on making our geographical isolation a disadvantage for people and business, stupidity at it's finest.

Velocity Chief Nick Rohrlach departs in management shakeup

This can only be good? I hope they get rid of that stupid "X amount of SCs on VA" - whatever that means in relation to QR/VA flights, I'm still not clear.

Qatar to replace SYD A380 service with 2x A350-1000s?

As I said in my OP, I am aware of that, but that's not the question. I saw 12k in October return to AMS, bit ridiculous.

Qatar to replace SYD A380 service with 2x A350-1000s?

I read somewhere that Qatar was planning to retire all A380s in 2025 (well I guess not!), and I'm wondering what are the barriers if any on replacing the Sydney-bound A380 with 2 brand new A350-1000s as they receive them from Airbus? I see they are receiving 2 more 1000s in the next 6 months...

Combine two separate QR redemptions possible?

I'm also curious. I know it's definitely possible, what I'm wondering is can you check the luggage through to the final destination, and/or can they put them on one ticket over the phone.

Who Pays when you use After Pay, Zip, PayPalx4 etc.

You'd be surprised, the pendulum is swinging back with gen Z and probably A against debt, so BNPL was initially a way to market "a kind of credit product" to this demographic, but now unfortunately people are buying groceries with it due to the immense inflation and lack of wage growth.

Who Pays when you use After Pay, Zip, PayPalx4 etc.

No offense to you, but this is the mentality of poor people. Debt is king in making wealth, if you ever want to financially succeed in the world, you need to understand how to make debt work for you. In short, BNPL companies raise money from investors, so the investors pay in the very literal...

Qantas - Emirates Award flight Discussion

That's true, but again due to the lack of redemption opportunities, it's usually another port, not in AU.

Qantas A380 (VH-OQI) flew for almost a month with a tool left inside the engine

Not ideal, but wouldn't be a real problem. There was that famous A380 that took off from Singapore and landed with 1 engine, the A380 is a highly sophisticated plane that is a safety powerhouse. Losing so many people is not an option, so Airbus threw in everything but the kitchen sink to ensure...
