Does anyone have the $95 HSBC Premier card ? Have you had the 3x 'gas and groceries' work on Aus supermarkets and petrol stations ?

What are the alternatives to Chase (and C1 who are even more conservative) for non-Amex spend with a wide variety of airline partners ?

Doesn’t add anything for security if you’re using your own secure (home) network They will block/flag a lot of VPN IPs because unfortunately a lot of dodgy stuff is done from commercial VPNs endpoints too… I was using a US VPN as I presumed Chase wouldn’t allow me to apply from a non-US IP...

I do wonder whether this was the root cause of my palaver of an application recently…. Received a letter at my US address from Chase saying ‘we are concerned someone is trying to steal your identity and have declined an application as a result’, followed up with another page of info on how to...

But this should be clear to them from the ITIN and its age - so I’m confused as to the purpose of their questioning (and why they have shutdown the accounts to start with)

What was your answer to this ? I don’t get why Chase/Cap1 are so skittish about account holders who are paying their balances appropriately

I've just read (a day late !) elsewhere that they don't like credit card statements 🤦‍♂️ I thought a Cap1 statement would be better than the well worn HSBC checking account statement but clearly not... So you reckon calling again tomorrow and asking if I can send them another proof of address...

Do they let you use Amex to make the payment ? I don't think pay.com.au does (only bank transfer)
