Just to update - seems it varies by the number of SC you are short. Quoted 45,500 for me,

Qantas did the same thing. Have to call to find out. Was hoping someone had a data-point before I made the call. Interestingly, their email template must use an old calculation. According to that I've got over 700 status credits.!! Fell a bit short on the VA flying !

Once they stop awarding PC, they will probably just let it run out till everyone's PC status expires.

Hasn't happened to me. I don't think that is right to deny platinum a breakfast.

$30 per breakfast sounds close to the Explorer rate.
