    High Speed Rail in Australia

Need Canberra, Wagga Wagga, Albury and Shepparton/ Benalla to become 1m + cities. Rail infrastructure is just hugely expensive. WSI Airport is $5-6bb WSI Metro is $12-13bn Just this Newcastle to Sydney section is now $90+bn. While it's probably the most complex geographically, it would still...

    High Speed Rail in Australia

Rail full stop is expensive. But long tunnels can actually be quite competitive versus a combination of multiple tunnels and viaducts, particularly once land acquisition or environmental costs are included. The appearance of WSI is strange to me. An airport is an occasional trip for most...

    Qantas starts international wifi

ZNG confirmed with hump on SydSquad today.. and expecting ZNH back from HKG soon (and thus also assuming ZNE has a hump given it was previously at HKG) 787s thus likely 5 /13 (ZNE G H J K). 332 EBQ now at 9 days in SYD maint so possibly being done as well, which would just leave EBP from the...

A380 VH-OQA just departed SYD as QF6043 bound for GRU. Reportedly to pick up much of the Bad Bunny show equipment and transport it to Sydney for the next leg of the tour.

    Status run to Auckland

Interesting.. so you can actually stay inside 24hrs.. As those who have ever left NZ on the early flights would know check-in generally doesn't open till 4am and the roller shutter is down on immigration and security until about 4.30am

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

1st aircraft was at this stage in Oct 2025 I think - left the final assembly line in Nov 2025, and still hasn't flown yet. Progress of new (or sub) models always a bit slower. QF has been fairly clear Sunrise service won't commence until 2027 when they have three aircraft.

    2026 F1 Thread

Ferrari flap definity interesting. But must be very close to the limit of 400ms for flap deployment, whereas other systems would be a lot quicker. What happens to the aero as it relatively slowly flips would be interesting.
