Coles Group company tax paid <3% of revenue, yet dividends fully franked. Company tax (and generally the value of it shares) is levied on profit (potential profit), not revenue. Obviously.

Absolutely wrong, Qld now collects $billions in gas royalties. And there is no shortage of domestic gas in Qld, just a shortage of what other states want Qld to increase supply. And why should it when the southern states have plentiful. There is no shortage of gas in NSW or Vic, just a shortage...

I don't think your comparison to "beer excise" has anything to do with export either.

We depart syd to auh on EY451 on a Tuesday which arr at 00:05, expect to check-in at about 1am. Onward flight from auh is Thursday. I confirmed that it would be a free 2 night stopover when booking (direct with Etihad on the phone). After advising Etihad of hotel preferences was told it would...

    Credit card options for retirees

Further it's TAXABLE income, such as mentioned previously a government super pension. I'll gladly exchange my taxable gov super pension (for which I had to contribute compulsory after-tax salary, and also didn't receive the % employer SG) for a tax free income, and have the "problem" of having a...

So... what car do you guys drive when not flying?

I think that you are a very patient person. I've been hiring one of those for the last several days. I like the calm when stopped but find quite annoying the vibrations when the petrol engine starts up every time, a few seconds after taking off from the lights and even then the acceleration is meh.

CBA One Day gain yesterday was extraordinary, ANZ today extra extraordinary; 8½% "Excluding the impact of (previous ) significant items, Cash Profit was up 17% driven by a significant reduction in expenses..." Benefits of AI? On a different note, Chalmers tabled his Div196 bill yesterday...

I don't day trade but of course we like to be up on 1st day of purchase.. Trying to be too clever today putting in a low Buy order at 15:59. With US down last night, AU following, international tensions, I thought there would be reluctance for many to hold over the weekend. So I expected a drop...

Is that a fixed not variable cost, i.e. not an extra cost of taking up the offer? The $200 signup bonus (don't know the Ts&Cs) might make it a risk free trial.

Credit Card Offers HSBC Star Alliance Credit Card: Fast-Track to Star Alliance Gold Status

Looks like where on about the same timeline, gold expired 31 January. I did the same, applied for Marriott Gold, used it just as much as you. Read your post so went looking through my MB emails, no offer there! Opened Aeroplan app and in front of my eyes my gold card turned into silver, with...

    Scams like these

Great doctor, and the practice had no issues with my not agreeing to hotdocs having my medical history. I don't think I was the 1st. Agee individual dr practice is probably less technically secure, but on a population basis (eg Medibank size) less likely that your personal info will be misused imo.

    Scams like these

If you've never given them your med history fine (unless your siblings have); but I booked appointment at a new practice just last week (phoned the practice). Soon after I received a text from hotdocs stating I "need" to fill out their form (requiring of course agreeing to their terms of use and...

    Scams like these

Yet another reason not to get involved with Hotdocs; if you've never used them then you can't be fooled. The other being that hotdocs wants to keep so much personal information about you, and your parents, and your siblings, that they are an obvious target commercial company to be hacked.

Have you topped up a UK pension to cover gaps?

Seperate department makes sense; unfortunately the confusing letter advising "Voluntary Class 3 National Insurance contributions due " and requesting £1648.40 simply states "Arrears due prior to 5/10/25”. Edit: looking for whole numbers, I find £1648.4 ÷ £15.85 (class 3 weekly rate in 22/23) =...
