OOL is almost always cheaper than BNE, just less frequency.

    Skiplagging on VA

Considering that you're going to have to spend points on the flight (and they'll know who you are) there's always the possibility that VA could potentially penalise/suspend your account. Having said that, slightly bizarre on a points flight that there is availability via BNE - but not direct -...

Where's all the UA J (Polaris) TPAC availability gone?

Having just flown BNE-SFO and LAX-SYD, I found that it was a case of checking daily, generally best checked after midnight Chicago time for J availability. Managed to obtain BNE-SFO about 3 months out and LAX-SYD about 6-8 weeks prior. As always YMMV.

Help me get to Canada with Qantas Points

I've found that calling the Marriott directly has yielded good results for me in the past. Don't think they publicly list the emails for the individual hotels at this point.

Virgin has quitely cancelled their newish direct BNE-AYQ flights over summer

Yep. OP noted that they'd purchased under the "old" system, so you'd like to think a diversion would give him the extra SC's.

Virgin has quitely cancelled their newish direct BNE-AYQ flights over summer

Having said that, if your purpose was Platinum renewal then re-route via MEL shouldn't be an issue...extra SC's, although yes, extra time.

May as well try again - what's to lose?

Combining United Economy and Business Award Flights

My understanding is that award flights for UA in Velocity can't be mixed class - you'd have to book it as two separate legs.

Virgin 737-8 Max Business Class - No Divider

Having sat in a "new" 3B recently, it's not too bad. Certainly not as much leg room (but still an "extra" legroom row) as the old config however you can now put a small bag under in front of you, rather than having to put everything up in the overhead. Admittedly I wouldn't pay much for it - may...

    General Virgin Australia Lounge Discussion

Most people who want their coffee quicker will cause problems for security if they don't get it in a timely manner 😎

    General Virgin Australia Lounge Discussion

If you'd like to get your coffee in a timely manner in the AM peak, 2 baristas is the bare minimum in BNE, SYD or MEL

    General Virgin Australia Lounge Discussion

VA would only be paying for the extra security detail for the time that they deem as being peak, as I'm pretty sure that Sydney Airport would be quite happy to charge them for the (at least) 4 security staff required to run the additional check point at Premium Entry. If the "zoo" upstairs is a...

Virgin Australia UpgradeMe pricing and success

I had a fun experience last year - Mrs Hawk and I were on the same flight, different PNR's, bid the same amount and guess who got upgraded and who didn't...😐

Pets in the Cabin - Coming soon on Virgin Australia
