Qantas Economy Plus Launching Feb 2026

Definitely more room on the plane I was on. I could comfortably leave my window seat without the passenger beside me moving their legs. You can even tell the overhead PSU is more forward then it used to be. Old New

Qantas Economy Plus Launching Feb 2026

My first time in J on a 737 with this configuration and I noticed row 1 has more legroom now. Don't know that this was discussed here, I certainly don't recall Qantas advertising it.

Qantas using 737 without seatback IFE for international flights?

The IFE screens are also downloading content from an IFE server (head-end). It's more that they can't decode a modern video encoding format so Qantas store only the most popular content in the legacy format and make you stream everything else to your own device.

    Qantas starts international wifi

Very likely. I've had this message in the app as well as an email or SMS when flying internationally on an A332. WiFi was definitely working and available, for the entire flight too.

    One world becoming less relevant

The way the boarding scanners work, is going by the group printed on your BP, they won't let you board if your groups not up yet. So it makes sense that if your OWE status isn't the one associated with the flight, you wouldn't be able to board with the group - computer will say no. The boarding...

When will Australia get modern entry procedures?

Quick count on Wikipedia, it's likely not 100% accurate which is why I rounded it and said 'over'.

When will Australia get modern entry procedures?

Not sure why you think it's a typo? Maybe I'm still not clear. I personally think the incoming passenger form would be more consistent if it were on a Government run website, like how other countries currently do it. I'm not saying it has to stay as a physical card. Unless you mean your...

When will Australia get modern entry procedures?

The entry form is currently app only, it could change like previously mentioned but that's an assumption. The rest we can agree to disagree.

When will Australia get modern entry procedures?

I just personally think it'd be more consistent as a Government run website. My personal opinion is that putting the UI on each airline and their app will create inconsistency for the Australian form. That's approximately the number of different Airlines that fly into Australia.

When will Australia get modern entry procedures?

We're talking slightly different things here. Currently these QR codes lead to the current-state implementations which are country operated websites. Your post was talking about how for this new style of implementation, QR codes can lead not just to an "airline app, just a page on the airline...

When will Australia get modern entry procedures?

Domestic in Australia I use a mobile BP 99% of the time. International, I use a mobile BP 0% of the time. I always have a bag to check in, so even if its QF I'll collect the paper BP from the counter. I'd say it's getting better, especially as more tech savvy people become the bulk of...

When will Australia get modern entry procedures?

For solo tech-savvy travelers that fly on the same couple of airlines every time, this is a yes. Take your everyday traveler that is on Jetstar one day, China Eastern the next day and then Delta the trip after. Now they have to download 3 different apps, possibly on multiple peoples phones...

When will Australia get modern entry procedures?

The current implementation is only back-end API's for the consumer client side. Meaning they need to provide every airline with a UI guide, API documentation and dev support. Then each airline undergoes testing and integration to verify this function and ensure their app works seamlessly with...

When will Australia get modern entry procedures?

Hmm in my experience it worked fine the handful of times I had to use it. It was no buggier then for example Indonesia where the auto complete couldn't find my hotel address, or Singapore where my friend claimed the OCR read their passport wrong causing them to need to fill the form out again at...

When will Australia get modern entry procedures?

The thing is, we had a fully implemented digital arrivals immigration card previously which worked exactly like Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia etc. You went to a website before hand, filled out a form and received a QR code. However, the link was poorly communicated. Then when you got on the...

Flying to Europe around late Apr/May

I've always gotten the points back immediately, the refund of taxes back to the card takes a while though.

    QF Platinum Recognition on flights

I very much notice in J if the CSM comes over to say hi. I keep a flight log and can probably tell you which oneworld flights I did and did not receive an in-seat greeting. The ratio of status pax in J is probably much higher, but the actual raw number might not be given how large Y cabins can...

QF42 still had the older kits.

    QF Platinum Recognition on flights

    J. My data points are based on about 1 - 3 return international flights a year, of which at least one is on QF. Haven't flown internationally in Y for about 10 years now.

    QF Platinum Recognition on flights

No CSM greeting in-seat on QF41 or QF42 in the last month. May or may not have received a 'welcome back' on boarding in QF41, but didn't on QF42. I know opinions on CSM greetings are quite polarising here, but this makes 1.5 years since I've had one on a long(ish) haul QF flight, when it used...
