Which is the best airline to fly from Australia to Bali?

Are you using points or $$? You can fly Garuda wide body J for 40k Qatar Avios each way to Bali or 60k each way to CGK. Granted it's not as nice as a Q suite but it gets you there a lot quicker!

Which is the best airline to fly from Australia to Bali?

You're doing Bali via Doha?! Is this from Australia? I love Q suites don't get me wrong but even on points I'm not using them to go to Bali! I thought I was extreme for considering coming back from Japan on Qatar...

Great prices from DPS - FRA on Emirates $4k r/t, $2.2k one way incl lounge

Maybe that was the case before but for 2026 going through the flight schedules on the website the A380 seems to run all year except for some of February.

Which is the best airline to fly from Australia to Bali?

I'm not sure how many people know you can redeem 40k QR Avios for Garuda A330 in J from SYD/MEL - DPS. Doing that one way and coming back on the VA afternoon flight (Y is fine for this) are my preferred options. SQ as earlier suggested isn't a bad option on an award flight either if you can...

Great prices from DPS - FRA on Emirates $4k r/t, $2.2k one way incl lounge

As I said in the initial post, one departure a day from DPS is the A380 and both 777s to FRA have the new 1-2-1 configuration. There's no need to fly the 2-3-2 EK 777. $2200 return from SEA to Europe would be highly unusual. I have never seen a flight priced that low. Searching that route...

Great prices from DPS - FRA on Emirates $4k r/t, $2.2k one way incl lounge

QR ex CGK is a great option too. Good for SC earn too. But DPS is a nicer starting/ending point and has typically been more expensive than CGK.

Great prices from DPS - FRA on Emirates $4k r/t, $2.2k one way incl lounge

Yep, I search the ex Asia J flight combinations regularly and this is a particularly great deal for several reasons. Starting in DPS (nicer base than CGK/MNL to spend some time pre/post), great airline, no coughpy middle seat business class seating, good lounges except at DPS (but MNL lounge...

Great prices from DPS - FRA on Emirates $4k r/t, $2.2k one way incl lounge

These prices are mid to late July which makes a difference as it's more into peak period. Ex SIN I'm finding similar pricing only with EK but with a 20h wait in AUH. Other prices incl TK are at least $700 r/t more expensive. Ex BKK I can see similarish prices with AY (but long wait times in...

Great prices from DPS - FRA on Emirates $4k r/t, $2.2k one way incl lounge

EK doesn't have that many deals like this. It's typically EY/TK (pretty good airlines themselves) though sometimes QR can have good deals. I've flown out of CGK and MNL like this before but I'd rather spend a couple of days in Bali either side than in either of those cities. Also for WP the...

Great prices from DPS - FRA on Emirates $4k r/t, $2.2k one way incl lounge

EK has 2 x flights a day from DPS (1 x A380 and 1 x 777 with 2-3-2) and 3 x flights a day to FRA (1 x A380 and 2 x 777 with newer 1-2-1 configs) Pick the 1945 from DPS rather than the 0035 as - most of the time - this will be scheduled as an A380. This seems to be the best flight combination...

Qantas - Emirates Award flight Discussion

That's interesting - previously you actually needed to separate out the flights on the multi city itinerary in order to find availability. Now the opposite seems to be true. Still very annoying that we can't search for flights originating in DXB thanks to the bug in the search system!

Qantas - Emirates Award flight Discussion

They're now releasing award space DXB - SYD on the 6am service in November most days. Can't see many options beyond DXB in F though sadly

    Finnair to launch Melbourne-Helsinki flights

I can find $8300ish on OTAs for MEL - BKK - HEL - LHR r/t. Not particularly competitive TBH, Malaysia is one stop only and is around $1000 cheaper. Given they're both OW can't see a reason to book Finnair at these prices.

    Finnair to launch Melbourne-Helsinki flights

Interesting after erroneously putting up HEL - MEL for 62.5k Avios in J yesterday Finnair have now said award flights will be available to book from the 23rd. Wonder if anyone managed to get a ticket at that price!

    Finnair to launch Melbourne-Helsinki flights

This is a really great addition for Euro summer then given the specific dates are less critical. It would be 143k points to a lot of Europe. 125k if going to Scandi/Baltic. SQ can be decent at this too for a similar amount of points for Saver fares but can build in a stopover in BKK on AY...

    Finnair to launch Melbourne-Helsinki flights

125k points HEL - MEL isn't amazing but it would allow for a stopover in BKK given it would cost the same as splitting them up. I'm also intrigued to see what Xmas availability is like - does anyone know if Finnair throttles availability over peak periods (like most airlines) or whether it...

    Finnair to launch Melbourne-Helsinki flights

Jetstar MEL-BKK in J is quite a nice PE flight at a reasonable price especially during the afternoon/evening! Wouldn't do it in economy or the night flight on the way back though.

    Finnair to launch Melbourne-Helsinki flights

Ah, interesting though because it is appearing for me as 62,500 miles all the way to HEL too on the search. Maybe they have messed things up a bit when loading them into the system? I wonder if you can book it and it'd be honoured or withdrawn as an error fare...sadly I don't have a pressing...

    Finnair to launch Melbourne-Helsinki flights

62,500?! That is obscenely good! You need to add on the connection flight (unless flying to Scandinavia/Baltics/Poland) but that's 20k in J or 13k in Y. It obviously would allow you a stopover too under these rules. I can't see that it's letting me select MEL - BKK as a stand alone yet on...
