Schedule change - two separate bookings

Thanks everyone ! I am going to sound Qantas and Amex out but I am also tempted to leave it as AustralianPoochie suggested. Yes the boys are capable of being split from mum and dad to fly together themselves but if I attempt a change and we end up on different flights then we have to wait for...

Schedule change - two separate bookings

My family of 4 are travelling together Mackay to Melbourne via Brisbane. Mum and dad (me) have a reward seat booking made with QF while my two teenage boys have a separate ticket paid fare booked through Amex Travel. Soon after making both bookings, I called Qanats to link the bookings. I have...

    Melbourne to Japan on Points

there are 3 economy class reward seats on 21 September from Melbourne to Tokyo via Hong Kong. Given this is a bit late for a popular destination during school holidays it is unlikely to get much better than this. I haven't searched for return flights though.

Cannot add QFF number to booking

so is this how it works: if I intend to purchase a revenue fair, do I first purchase the gift voucher for the value of the fare ( or greater ) and then pay with the voucher to avoid card fee ? Can I pay reward seat taxes that way as well ?

    Qantas redemption booking woes

If MEL to LAX is a day time flight as you say, personally I would go with the premium economy direct flight.

    Europe Routing 2024

getting close to Athens or Athens itself with partner airlines is tricky. If you want a 100% reward seats route than I imagine it would be BA out of London or maybe Royal Jordanian fly there from Amman. You could try searching flying into say Frankfurt with JAL or Cathay or other airlines and...

Article: How Vodafone’s $5 Global Roaming Compares to Optus & Telstra

On a recent 21 day trip to the USA, Optus charged me about 7-8 daily roaming $5 charges for days in which there was no usage at all. Yes I received a refund but if I had not reconciled and studied the invoice etc and then call to complain it probably would have been missed.

What on earth is QF doing?

I tend to agree that the Sydney connection time is OK so you will have to weigh up how important is the reduced lounge time for you

    Seat 51K on 380

good choice, the only other thing to consider which you haven't mentioned is that the entertainment screen I think is smaller as it is in the seat arm-rest as opposed to the seat back in front of you. Not sure if the seats are also a bit narrower due to the screen in armrest

Classic Rewards flights Sydney - London

if you are after 4 seats, going at a popular time and staying in Europe for say more than a few days, like everyone else said book the one way NOW and then book return later as a separate one way.

    Linking bookings

some bookings are reward seats and others a cash fare. Given we are all travelling together I don't want to be in a situation where Qantas bump us around resulting in say the four of us split onto different flights

    Linking bookings

Hi my family and I have a far north Queensland holiday coming up and I have 2 bookings, Melbourne to Cairns and a further 2 bookings coming back from Queensland, Mackay to Melbourne. When I call Qantas, do I ask to link each sector as one or all four bookings as one?

    Error message (15079 - 23951 - 420)

Given you got to payment page, check if the booking is actually in your 'manage my bookings'. If it is then the problem was payment so you will need to call

    Is 59A really bad on a 787-9?

Thanks Serfty ! also thanks in relation to proximity to toilet noise commentary ! In reality I expect that I will need to fly B787 economy class again at some stage in the future and this really helps with seat selection.

    Is 59A really bad on a 787-9?

I took note of these seats while sitting a few rows forward on a HNL to Mel flight and they looked preferable to what I had and wished I had booked them. It was an overnight flight so there were not many passengers waiting for the toilet. BTW the entire B787 Y class experience was not pleasant...
