Why would you not go for the cheaper points flight? When overnighting at MNL T3, I usually stay at the Savoy hotel. Within walking distance and quite good quality and rates. No point in going downtown, unless you're after something else.

I'm not seeing any of that as I only have bookings in J or on the Dash-8. But the big question for me is, can I select the bulkhead row on a 330. Never been able to do that. Would make a huge difference to me.
