Qantas A380 reliability issues creeping up again?

When was the last time you were involved in approvals? Not sure why are there so many dispensations granted now compared to even a few years ago? The rationale for many of the dispensations goes against the guidance quoted up thread. Either the people doing the dispensations are not doing...

Qantas A380 reliability issues creeping up again?

I'm sure the poor person signing these off at 11pm each night doesn't have access. However if you don't think there is subtle pressure from the airlines to the minister/senior public servants on issues like this then you would be mistaken. The person signing these off at 11pm would have...

Qantas A380 reliability issues creeping up again?

I'm amazed the number of dispensations that are regularly granted these days. Looking at some of the previous dispensations that the government publishes, lots of operational issues for both take-off and landing dispensations which surely should not be considered exceptional circumstances...

Qantas A380 reliability issues creeping up again?

It may help with flexibility of parts, engineering resources etc? Both BA and QF have issues with 380 reliability, not sure the others do.

Qantas A380 reliability issues creeping up again?

I think EK, EY, QR and SQ all do heavy engineering in house or via their engineering subsidiary? BA and QF don't.

No Qantas Lounge Access when Flying QF Codeshare on IndiGo

Interesting web page Bangkok Airways - I've been granted access to the QF Singapore Business lounge multiple times when arriving from LHR in Business and departing on Bangkok Airways to Koh Samui and coughet According to that web page I shouldn't be allowed!

    Qantas First Class menus

Given the F meal service is almost always too slow Interested to see how/if QF do offer true dine on demand in F! Prehaps less passengers to serve may make it a quicker service, although I think the real issue is staffing arrangements in the F cabin/galley.

Qantas to move to new Perth Airport terminal, expand Perth hub

India notoriously low yield, be interesting to see how QF compares it with other options out of Perth with a better return - i.e. a second PER-SIN flight with an A321 or even HKG. Popular destinations for cashed up WA leisure travellers along with corporate demand. 2 x daily A321 flights to SIN...

    Qantas First Class menus

Do you know if this will be the launch of the new menu they outlined in August's results presentation ("investing in First service and catering") ? Theyve been quiet since then!

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

Agree, they said they will replace the 787 with A350s and given the demand across all premium cabins on this route the 350 with extra J and Y+ it'll help. They are also generally short of 787s so those on this route could be put to good use elsewhere. Not sure what the demand for F out of Perth...

Is it possible to return from SE Asia to East Coast AUS on day flights?

I agree but I wonder if this is changing? Historically premium classes were full of business travellers and coming back from London you could lose 1 working day by leaving LHR at night, arriving in SYD/MEL 2 days later early AM. Or, take the lunchtime departure from Heathrow and lose 2 working...

Is it possible to return from SE Asia to East Coast AUS on day flights?

The old QF32 leaving SIN at 0830 arriving in SYD at 1900(?) was perfect, particulary when a points upgrade to F came through. For whatever reason it was always easy to get upgraded to F on that flight, and the all day menu was fantastic. They had a similar day flight from HKG to MEL I think...

    Qantas First Class menus

QF did mention at last results they are investing in the F catering and service - I wonder if anyone on here has had any indication about the improvements? Or will we consider this an "enhancement"

    Qantas First Class menus

Thanks Jamesatfish for the QF2 menu. Although I gotta say I think I'd be filling up in the Qantas London lounge with its excellent food rather than eating off that supper menu.!

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Can they use dry ice to store the meals for the return leg? BA does this in Europe for aircraft nightstopping - the breakfasts for the next days early morning flight are loaded in London and stored overnight in the aircraft using dry ice.

Jetstar Asia to shutdown on 31 July 2025

I've got a LHR>SIN>BKK ticket on QF/3K and despite numerous emails saying they'll review and be in contact with alternative flights, all thats happened is the 3K flight no longer shows in MMB. Hoping they'll reroute LHR>BKK direct on Thai or Eva. lets see.

Qantas A380 refurbishment news and updates

Is there really enough demand for 4 x daily flights to LHR? 2 x Sunrise flights (MEL, SYD) and a flight each from Perth and Singapore(starting either in Syd, Mel or Bne) Some of the current SIN-LHR QF1/QF2 traffic is already fed from flights from Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane. Much of that...

New Project Sunrise test flight: Sydney to London over the South Pole in an A380

Next time Qantas talks about net zero and carbon emissions remind them of this unnecessary flight!

New Qantas London First Lounge + other lounge upgrades

Given the layout of T3 I'm not sure where they can have direct boarding to the plane from the lounge, unless they take over the Emirates lounge near gates 1 -5. And that is v unlikely to happen. The rest of terminal is mostly narrow concourses (often with low ceiling heights) with no room for a...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

BA has the same issue with some nightstop flights, it uses dry ice to keep the food chilled overnight before it gets heated on the early morning flight.
