Honestly, I don't think you need to worry about the bags.

The Mouton Blanc is not that far up the hill; just need to drag the bag over the cobblestones. Easy for a man like you.

Another thought: heading south from Carnac towards La Rochelle you could detour via the Passage du Grois which takes you to L'île du Noirmoutier. The passage is a 4 km tidal causeway that can only be crossed at or around low tide. Aim for about two hours before low tide (don't cross more than...

    Normandy and Brittany

Those times sound pretty good to me. As far as the tides are concerned, the middle two hours of tide are when the tide will be falling fastest and the current will also be the fastest. At high tide the water will be relatively still and you will see the Mont as a true island. I would get...

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

If you are looking at a Oneworld Reward (which is what this thread is about) use the Qantas multi-city tool (not the Oneworld Routing tool which is for paid flights). You may also find this website helpful: https://www.flightconnections.com/

    Normandy and Brittany

Sounds great. Of course, La Rochelle is in Charente-Maritime, not Normandy or Brittany, but I am sure you already knew that. Mont-Saint-Michel: Try to time your visit to Mont-Saint-Michel to coincide with Spring/King tides; be sure to check-out the dam (barrage) that was built to de-silt the...

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

Your only option for a direct flight using Oneworld airlines will be JAL from NRT to YVR. Your chances of finding a seat in J on that route in May are around zero. Even flying Y you would be unlikely to find availability to fly direct. You will probably have to connect via HKG or the USA...

Changes to NAB Rewards Signature card: No forex fees + earn rate changes

I noticed that you didn't get an answer to this question so I'm wondering if you found a suitable alternative? I've kept my card open until now as I was due another 50,000 points on the one-year anniversary of opening the account in June '24 (the change to a monthly fee rather than the annual...

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

This is not uncommon. When you select seats and progress through to the payment page, the system takes the seats out of inventory and "holds" them pending completion of the booking. If you don't complete the payment the seats can be held for quite some time on occasions. I recently had this...

China - never a dull moment!

OK thanks; misread the Cruiser's post and thought it was referring the RoHS rather than the CCC. My bad.

China - never a dull moment!

Just checked the one I picked up in France last year and it does have "RoHS" on it (but doesn't include the word "compliant"). Can only hope they will accept that.

Yes the 10k per month at full earn will be a deal breaker for many. Earn rate dependent on retailer: 3 points/$ for overseas spend (up from 1.5 points?) but the 3% o/s transaction fee makes this a no-go for me 2 points/$ on: Most major Australian supermarkets, department stores, petrol...

    Scams like these

Certainly can: a few years ago my preferred debit card for overseas spend got cleaned out. The only place I had used it in the previous 12+ months was to purchase flights online with Aegean Airlines.

    Service flow on airlines

Some years ago I flew BKK to AMM on RJ. The flight departed at midnight. Once airbourne and starting the cruise, the crew turned off the lights and most passengers settled down to sleep. About an hour later (0130) the lights came back on and they served a three course meal! WTF?
