10% bonus miles when converting bank points into Asia Miles

With rumours of an Amex to Cathay devaluation, I'm thinking it may be a good time to take advantage of this offer.

    NAB acquires Citibank Australia

So pretty much works the same as the CitiPlus and its linked savings account did.

    NAB acquires Citibank Australia

I see Macquarie have both a transaction account and a savings account. As far as I can see, both are fee-free on overseas transactions and overseas ATM cash withdrawals. Main difference seems to be the interest rate. Am I missing something?

    Woolworths gift card thread

If you convert a number of physical cards to digital cards and add them to your wallet, do they remain as individual cards/amounts or do they get combined into one digital card with the combined balance?

    NAB acquires Citibank Australia

I've been waiting for the dreaded email to arrive but so far nothing. I have been using the ex-CitiPlus account regularly since the migration so is it possible that active accounts will be treated differently? Probably wishfull thinking.

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

I've also used the Assistance Request Form and SQ extended the validity of my points by 12 months so they wouldn't expire. I think it's better to use the form rather than ring so that you get through to someone with the authority to give you the answer you desire.

    Passengers clapping after landing

OK, so looks like it's a cultural thing in S America. Looking back at our Aegean flight, the first half of the flight was nice and smooth; the second half was far rougher than any other flight I've been on. I'm sure our neighbour wasn't the only one using rosary beads.

    Passengers clapping after landing

Never been on a flight where the pax have clapped but the lady next to us on an Aegean flight had her rosary beads in hand and blessed herself 5 times when we landed in Rhodes.

    Woolworths gift card thread

While all valid points (pardon the pun), I'll wait until there is a 20x points offer. While YMMV, I don't need QF points that badly for me to take up this offer.

    Woolworths gift card thread

Yes indeed, thank you for pointing that out. So, on a $100 card you get 1,000 WOW points, or $5, after paying a fee of $5.95! Tell 'em they're dreaming! (The $50 cards are even worse.) Of course, you could convert your 1,000 WOW points to 500 QF; they're still dreaming!

I can't see the fee clearly; is it $5.95 on the Vanilla cards?

    Superannuation Discussion + market volatility

I've done the withdrawal and re-contribution strategy a couple of times in my self-managed super fund. Assuming you are over 60 (tax-free withdrawals), past your preservation age and stick within the contribution caps, etc... the contribution will go into your accumulation account (best if the...

Fortunately I have managed to train a couple of local establishments in how to accept them.
