QF WP, in J on QF 158 (MEL-AKL) yesterday, was told that i would be the last QF passenger let into the EK Lounge for the day. Was also told that if not for QF WP, I would not have been allowed in notwithstanding flying J.
Apparently as QF does not codeshare on the remaining EK Flights out of...
i've been denied entry as QF WP flying AA J because the lounge was full of F/J/WP/OWE's on QF Metal. The F Lounge at LAX seems to prioritize those on QF Metal before members on OW flights.
Specific question to AMEX:
I've had both a David Jones AMEX and QF Ultimate card, closed on different dates (Ultimate first, DJ AMEX later), anyone know from which closure date the 18th month window starts?

anyone know whether you can cancel the Westpac Mastercard but keep the AMEX card open? Wouldn't mind holding onto the AMEX card until my 18 months with Amex runs its course !
Do you have many other card applications/closures on your file? that was the reason i was given for my last rejection. Unsure whether I should try again.
all in all a bit ridiculous considering the minimum income for the card is $35k p.a.
I have been able to select all available seats in Y at time of booking for no cost, including exit rows on domestic economy, but not the extra leg room seats on the A330's (row 9/10 if memory serves me).
Just a word of warning to those out there, QF Money will automatically reject you if you try applying for the card again more than once within a 6 month period (Assuming you were rejected the first time).
They say its their internal policy. I was silly enough to think that cancelling my credit...
Off the top of my head, I have applied for 4 in the last 6 months? Two of which was Qantas Money which I have decided to stop wasting my time with.
No worries!
got instantly turned down on the basis of too many credit inquiries on my file in the last 6 months.
Called back and spoke to a supervisor however they were unable to even consider high assets/no debt/high income due to the apparently "high risk" profile I hold as a result of churning.
Guess...
There was definitely champagne both pre-departure and throughout the flight on my recent BNE-NRT and HKG-MEL flights (both within the last 7 days).
Food was uninspired but standard fare for QF Business, menus attached for those interested.
Very efficient application with NAB, applied and received same day confirmation on Tuesday (06/02), card was received on Thursday (08/02). Now to hit the minimums!
