I booked SYD-LAX QF17 in F on December 22nd to avoid the skybed. If the aircraft is updated then I may change to J as I don't see much of a difference between J and F on the upgraded A380. Thoughts?

Any experiences with transfer times to CX? I recall last time I transferred it took the full 3 business days but wondering if it's now sped up.

Ramen broth was a bit flavourless but the pork was fork tender. Beef brisket needs a sauce as although its tender I found it dry. Club sandwich and S&P squid good as usual but the lamb bao was just ok. Chocolate cake and pavlova for dessert were both excellent.

I was able to snag award seats for SYD-LAX-SYD (return via BNE) over Xmas and returning in the new year in F on the way over and J on the return (booked via QF). The plan is to book separate internal flights on AA in J to NYC and back and the JFK-LAX flight I have my eye on arrives at 12:41pm...
