Article: Why I Flew Jetstar to the AFF Melbourne Gathering

That's a good summary :-). I'm fortunate my only JQ/3K delay out of probably 15+ flights had me spending 9hrs in the MEL QF F lounge when I was Plat. And somewhat surprisingly 3K call centre moved my connecting flight (not on same ticket) without issue (I did miss a nights accommodation and a...

The order might changes but in general the first season of new regs the gaps are the largest but typically compress as teams copy each other and have more design and aero and compute time.

    Exec changes at QF

It certainly sounds like a few executives have had their roles enhanced, given the names mentioned above are taking on additional responsibilities alongside existing roles.

Without Newey and with the new Ford-RBR engine, I think RBR and RB might be in for a world of hurt in 2026. Even more so as they've been continuing work on the 2025 car as others have shifted to 2026.

Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

Agreed. For many people the new system earns more SCs. But there are definitely a number who struggle with it including those previously flying: - Lite fares - Multi-leg/ connecting fares (used to be good $/SCs) - Family pooling (particularly 3+ ppl)

On Your Mark, Get Set, Chicago

Nice report and great effort in the marathon. AA LAX lounge has been Flagship not First for many years which is why as Sapphire you got access. Flagships also in DFW, MIA, ORD and PHL and arguably JFK (Greenwich lounges though they split also with Soho and Chelsea for Emerald and true First)...

EBQ just returned from seven days in BNE maintenance, so like EBM it might have been fitted. Just need to wait for someone to fly on it or photograph it

In that precise situation, probably, but only on the last lap or two... But say it's max 1, Oscar 2 and Lando 6.. then Oscar isn't going to help because in the event Max bins it, runs out of fuel or gets DQd post race then Oscar would have given away the championship.

As always lots of what ifs this year as we look to the final race. Key ones for me - The Imola swap (+- 3 Oscar Lando), the Silverstone Penalty (+- 7 Oscar Lando), Spain red mist (+9 Max) Agree a double stack wouldn't have cost Lando much. And given McLaren used Hards in the short final stint...

    Lounge Access Help Desk

Qantas hasn't had a lounge at BKK for over a decade. In general I don't find buying access anywhere good value, particularly in a place like BKK where food is relatively cheap. Always worth checking if AF will allow paid access i guess.
