Qantas to debut new uniforms in 2027

To be honest, the uniform is something they should be listening to staff on. They didn't last time, so I have little reason to expect they will this time. The current pilot uniform is universally despised. People who took the time to attend the design meetings were uninvited if they didn't...

    Qantas' New A321XLR

QF, under various leaders, has separated the "group" into various entities that don't cross over. Presumably these aircraft are being flown by mainline pilots, in which case it's an entirely new aircraft type. Now, there's no shortage of Airbus experience within mainline, but it's all on the...

The lithium battery problem has hit Australia - fire on Domestic Flight

I don't think they'll have the slightest trouble defining power banks and spare batteries. People will want to argue, and but as far as I know, nobody has ever won any argument about what they should be allowed to carry.

Emirates to ban using power banks onboard from 1 October, 2025

We now will go through a cycle of normally reasonable people attempting to work out how they can circumvent these rules. They will slowly tighten (or rapidly if there is a bad fire) until power banks are completely banned for carriage.

The lithium battery problem has hit Australia - fire on Domestic Flight

ICAO moves slowly, but I suspect we'll see a worldwide ban sooner rather than later.

So... what car do you guys drive when not flying?

No, not really. Especially for another $10k.

So... what car do you guys drive when not flying?

We're probably going to sell our caravan (Centaur Karavane), and once that goes no need for a tow car. So, that means that the Range Rover Sport will be downsized. The boss's current thinking is a new Golf GTI.

Jeju Air Flight 2216 Crashes in South Korea

I don't know that trying to push it down would have had much effect. They really needed the spoilers (or speedbrakes) to destroy the lift. And even then, what's the braking coefficient of an engine nacelle, vs wheels and brakes. Not terribly good...

    Worse than feet on bulkheads

It's intentional. They're simply better than you, and therefore do not have to take you into consideration at all. 1754471401 I've found that joining in on their conversation, irrespective of the language, seems to hit their privacy switch, and they suddenly stick the phone to their ear.

Very sadly, that appears to be the case.

Former Virgin 737 VH-VOT tail tip incident

Sadly the corporate world will always fob you off. If you're concerned about something, make it a report to CASA. You almost certainly won't hear anything, but if the issue is real, you'll probably find the airline suddenly fixes it.

Pets in the Cabin - Coming soon on Virgin Australia

And this box is to be left behind in the event of an evacuation. Simply another log jam.... Not any Airbus. Actually, you can occasionally hear real barking dogs in the AB, if they're carried in the forward hold. They go to sleep after we take the air away.

Two sources that are not well regarded.

    Ask The Pilot

Not really uncommon. It would be rare for a 330 sized hangar to be sitting around. If it's there, it will already be in use. If the place they're going to doesn't have an engineer they've certified to oversee any work, they'll need to carry someone who can. Not uncommon. As for the engine, who...

Worrying scenes from inside as Flight attendants try to evacuate plane

True. Mover (YT) would like them put on a 5 year no fly list. Warnings would be pointless, as you need an outcome that is noticeable by others. 1753845844 No, then they’d just be standing in the aisle, trying to force the bins open. And they’d still be rummaging under the seats for their other...

Worrying scenes from inside as Flight attendants try to evacuate plane

The only thing of even vague importance is your passport. And guess what, they fit in pockets. Whilst I’d hazard a guess at Americans being the worst at this behaviour, I suspect we’re not far behind. Aircraft aborts. Comes to a halt, but then after about 30 seconds an evacuation is ordered...
